Abstract

A system and method for rolling planar food products that rest upon interleaving paper is provided. The system includes first and second conveyors, a rotating mechanism and a movement system. The rotating mechanism is normally disposed at a first position proximate to the end of the first conveyor such that a leading edge of planar dough that extends over the first conveyor falls with respect to the rotating mechanism. The controller urges rotation of the rotation mechanism as the leading edge extends with respect to the rotating mechanism and rotates until the planar food product is fully rolled about the rotation mechanism. The movement mechanism then translates the rotation mechanism to a position where it is aligned with the second conveyor.

Abstract

A conveyor sensor arrangement is disclosed. The conveyor sensor arrangement includes a conveyor configured to move a product from a first conveyor end to a second conveyor end in a conveying direction. A plurality of fingers are pivotally arranged on a support that is positioned above the conveyor and that is arranged perpendicular to the conveying direction. Each finger of the plurality of fingers includes a first finger end and a second finger end, and the first finger end extends toward a surface of the conveyor. A single sensor is arranged above the conveyor. Contact between a leading edge of a product moving along the conveyor and at least one of the first finger ends causes a corresponding one of the second finger ends to trigger the sensor.

Abstract

A flap folding arrangement is disclosed. The flap folding arrangement includes an axially extending rim that initially contacts a flap of a product to partially fold the flap as the product is dropped from a feed conveyor into a first pocket of a rotator pan. A controller is adapted to rotate the rotator pan away from a first position which drives the flap into contact with a flap-folding flange and a radially extending rim until the product is positioned at a second position under a flap-folding gate. The controller is adapted to drive a product discharger into contact with the product to drive the product out of the first pocket and away from the folding assembly after rotation of the rotator pan.

Abstract

A food processing system having a slicer/former for food preparations having a feed conveyor, a stacker for stacking food preparations, and n interleaver for inserting a substrate under a food preparation from the food slicer/former as it transitions to the stacker. The interleaver is arranged such that a portion of the interleaver is located beneath the feed conveyor of the slicer/former. The interleaver includes an interleaver conveyor which extends from the feed conveyor to the stacker in-feed conveyor, and an overall length of the interleaver conveyor is less than a length of the interleaver in order to provide a reduced footprint interleaver for new and retro-fit applications having a limited length for the food processing system.
