Abstract

The present invention relates to electricity generators. More specifically, the present invention concerns an electricity generator operable to produce electricity through electromagnetic induction using a two-stroke engine including a substantially adiabatic combustion chamber which eliminates the need for a cooling system and allows for using relatively lightweight low-temperature materials, a free and floating piston which minimizes friction and eliminates the need for a conventional lubricating system, a switching intake and exhaust system which further improves efficiency and reduces undesirable emissions, and a supercharging system which improves performance.

Abstract

A system (20) and method for mixing and blending using turbulence to thoroughly and rapidly mix and blend first and second components, thereby maximizing the evenness and degree of mixing and blending while minimizing reduction in flow rate. In operation, a second component flows into a first opening (22), into a mouth of an intermediate structure (26), and out an exit opening (32) in the intermediate structure (26). A first component interacts with the second component flowing out the exit opening (32) such that turbulence is created which mixes the first and second components. The mixed first and second components flow out a second opening (24). In one application, the system (20) may be used to mix diesel fuel and water.

Abstract

The present invention relates to pulse jet engines. More specifically, the present invention concerns a pulse jet engine which uses fluidic valving rather than unreliable mechanical valves, incorporates two combustion chambers with approximately the same but approximately 180 degree out-of-phase resonance frequencies to reduce noise through destructive interference of sound waves, and controls fuel injection and ignition within the two combustion chambers to increase efficiency by achieving more rapid and complete combustion.

Abstract

A system and method for reducing interaction between surfaces (10,12) moving relative to each other. The system includes a first surface (10) having a first number of repetitive surface-asperities (14), e.g., 11, per unit length of surface, and a second surface (12) having a second number of repetitive surface asperities (16), e.g., 13, per unit length of surface, with the first and second numbers being in relative prime ratio, i.e., having no common divisor other than 1. The ratio of repetitive surface asperities may be controlled as a function of component particle size, grain size; groove size; or relative angular orientation of the surfaces (110,112).
