Abstract

There is described a tote bag (B) comprising a collapsible container body (10) made of a foldable assembly of fabric panels that are joined together to form a bottom side (15) and a sidewall (11-14) including four lateral sides (11, 12, 13, 14) that jointly define an inner storage volume when the collapsible container body (10) takes an expanded state. The collapsible container body (10) is configured to take an essentially parallelepipedic shape when in the expanded state. Opposite first and second lateral sides (11, 13) of the collapsible container body (10) are each provided with a gusset fold (F) designed to allow outward folding of the first and second lateral sides (11, 13) into flat-folded gusset sections (11F, 13F). The collapsible container body (10) is configured to be foldable into a flattened folded configuration where the first and second lateral sides (11, 13) are folded outward along the gusset fold (F) into the flat-folded gusset sections (11F, 13F), the flat-folded gusset sections (11F, 13F) being foldable inward over lateral sections of a third one (14) of the lateral sides (11, 12, 13, 14), while a fourth one (12) of the lateral sides (11, 12, 13, 14) is foldable inward to align the bottom side (15) with the fourth lateral side (12). The collapsible container body (10) is provided with a releasable holding structure (BT/EB) to selectively secure the flat-folded gusset sections (11F, 13F) to the third lateral side (14) and keep the collapsible container body (10) in the flattened folded configuration.

Abstract

There is disclosed a bag for the transport and storage of bulk goods or liquids formed by the assembly of several double-thickness pieces of fabric, including first and second pieces of fabric, each having opposite first and second sides extending between first and second folded-in flattened edges. Each piece of fabric includes at least one gusset defined by a first oblique section extending between the first folded-in flattened edge and a first gusset end positioned on the second side of the piece of fabric and a second gusset end positioned on the first side of the piece of fabric. The first and second pieces of fabric are assembled such that the second side of the second piece of fabric is in contact with or close to the first side of the first piece of fabric such that the first and second gusset ends of the first and second pieces of fabric are substantially aligned. The first and second pieces of fabric are assembled by means of seams formed around or near the first and second gusset ends of the first and second pieces of fabric.
