Abstract

A link chain lubricant comprising for at least one third in volume organic oil, up to one third wax and at least one third inorganic additive. The lubricant further optional comprising hydrophobic material, colorant, a light-activated binder, hydrophilic material to form a gel when exposed to water and a tracer. Also a device for cleaning and lubricating a link chain comprising a housing defining a chain passage, a chain drive system and a cleaning fluid nozzle. The device further optional comprising a lubricant applicator, an opposing cleaning fluid nozzle, a link chain sprocket, an air nozzle, a cleaning fluid bath, a cleaning fluid pump, and a reservoir.
