Abstract
An oil filter evacuator may be configured to attach to an oil filter housing of a vehicle and/or an oil filter adapter coupled with a vehicle, form a seal with the oil filter housing and/or oil filter adapter, and when an oil filter (such as a spin-on oil filter) is attached to the oil filter housing and/or the oil filter adapter, the oil filter evacuator may be sandwiched between the oil filter housing and/or the oil filter adapter and the oil filter, forming a seal with both the oil filter housing and/or the oil filter adapter and the oil filter. The oil filter evacuator may have a side-hole accessible on an exterior of the oil filter evacuator and extending into a passage of the oil filter evacuator such that pressurized air may be applied to the side-hole and passed into the oil filter system, thereby pressurizing the oil filter system.

Abstract
A thread locking mechanism may be include in a threaded portion of a removable part to enable the removable part to be securely locked to an assembly such that the removable part does not turn when another part is being attached or removed. The thread locking mechanism may also be un-locked when it is desirable for the removable part to turn and be removed from, or further secured to, the assembly. In some examples the removable part may be an oil filter adapter, the assembly may include an engine, and the other part may be an oil filter.

Abstract
A check valve may be used to enable desired flow rates of fluid in a particular direction. In some examples, the check valve may have a hollow cylindrical body and a threaded portion on an exterior wall of the hollow cylindrical body such that the check valve may be coupled with an assembly, such as an adapter for a vehicle engine. The check valve may include a plunger having a dome shaped portion (e.g., cone shaped, semi-hemispherical shaped, rounded cone shaped, etc.) that extends out of the hollow cylindrical body into free space when the check valve is in an open position and forms a seal with the hollow cylindrical body when the check valve is in a closed position.
