Abstract

Provided are: a strip end detection device that is capable of accurately detecting a strip end and reducing maintenance work burden; and a brushing device comprising the strip end detection device. This end detection device 7 moves back and forth in the width direction of a strip 2 together with a brush roll 3 and detects the width-direction ends of the strip 2. The end detection device 7 comprises: a light projection unit 8 for emitting light from the front or back surface side of the strip 2 toward the other side, a reception unit 9 that is disposed on the opposite side of the strip 2 from the light projection unit 8 and receives the light projected from the light projection unit 8, a plurality of covers 100 for individually covering the projection unit 8 and reception unit 9, air jetting means 11 that are provided in each of the covers 100 and are for continuously jetting air toward the light projection unit 8 and light reception unit 9, and water jetting means 12 that are provided in each of the covers 100 and are for jetting water toward the light projection unit 8 and light reception unit 9 at a prescribed timing.

Abstract

The present invention provides a roll shaft having high corrosion resistance and rigidity against bending, and a brush roll comprising the roll shaft. Provided is a bristle element for a brush and a method of manufacturing the bristle element for the brush such that productivity can be improved.
