A radiation source includes an initial source, a non-linear optical frequency converter, a conversion detector and a controller. The invention relates to a short-pulse laser system comprising a first resonator, a second resonator, and an amplification means for amplifying the electromagnetic pulses both in the first resonator as well as in the second resonator. Imaging systems on the basis of millimetre wave radiation are known from the prior art. Static systems require complex and expensive transmitting and receiving devices for generating and detecting the electromagnetic millimetre wave radiation. There are no suitable transmitting devices and receiving devices available for the millimetre wave radiation that generate a plurality of image points at the same time, as is the case for example for other wavelength ranges of electromagnetic radiation in the form of CCD cameras. Therefore, the imaging devices known from the prior art are based on generating the individual image points successively over time, i.e. in a series. For this purpose, an object of which the image is to be generated by the electromagnetic radiation must in some way or other be scanned image point by image point with the aid of the electromagnetic radiation.

Abstract

The present invention relates to an FMCW radar device for determining the distance of an object from an element of the radar device. It is a disadvantage with FMCW radar devices from the prior art that same are neither suited for measuring distances of a stationary or only slowly moving object with high resolution nor can said systems determine the distance of a quickly moved object with low resolution. In contrast, the aim of the present invention is to provide a radar device which enables the distance to be determined between the transmitter antenna or receiver antenna and a quickly moved object with high resolution. According to the invention, in order to achieve this aim, an FMCW radar device is proposed, wherein a predetermined time interval for the change in radar frequency is 100 µs or less, the controllable oscillator is configured such that while the radar device is operating the radar frequency can be tuned within the predetermined time interval via a tuning bandwidth of at least 4 GHz, and the phase comparator is configured such that same provides a phase stabilisation of the generated radar signal for at least 900 frequencies of the radar signal within the tuning bandwidth of the controllable oscillator and within the predetermined time interval.

Abstract

A method for positioning an access or loading assembly against the fuselage of an aircraft during the loading or unloading process, in which at least two multichannel scanners are oriented toward the aircraft fuselage and disposed above one another at a distance from each other, each with several light emitting units and at least one detector. First, a reference position is determined by using the scanners, then a current position of the aircraft fuselage relative to the access or loading assembly is determined at determined time intervals by the multichannel scanners. The current position is compared with the reference position to determine a deviation. In case of a deviation between the two positions, a signal is transmitted to the control system of the positioning drive for realigning the access or loading assembly and reducing the deviation.
