Abstract

A method of dispensing paste for a printer using a paste dispensing apparatus is provided. The paste dispensing apparatus includes a reservoir for storing a paste for a printer. The reservoir includes a stirrer for stirring the paste. The paste dispensing apparatus includes a receptacle for receiving paste from the reservoir. The paste dispensing apparatus includes a closable passage from the reservoir to the receptacle. The closable passage is changeable between an open state and a closed state. In the open state, the receptacle is fluidly coupled to the reservoir so that paste can pass from the reservoir to the receptacle. In the closed state, the receptacle is fluidly decoupled from the reservoir so that the paste is prevented from passing from the reservoir to the receptacle. The paste dispensing apparatus includes a pusher for pushing paste out of the receptacle. The method includes transferring a first volume of paste from the reservoir to the receptacle while the closable passage is in the open state. The method includes, after the transferring, changing the closable passage from the open state to the closed state. The method includes, after the changing, performing a first discharging operation by the pusher to discharge a first amount of paste from the receptacle while the closable passage is in the closed state.

Abstract

A processing system for producing solar cells is provided. The processing system includes a conveyor belt system. The conveyor belt system includes a conveyor belt for transporting a solar cell wafer. Furthermore, the processing system includes a laser unit configured to direct a laser beam onto the solar cell wafer during transportation of the solar cell wafer by the conveyor belt. Furthermore, a conveyor belt system for use in the production of solar cells is provided that includes a support surface with several openings in the support surface; a conveyor belt with several openings in the conveyor belt; and a first underpressure circuit connected to at least a part of the multitude of openings in the support surface. Furthermore, a method for producing solar cells is provided. The conveyor belt system includes transporting a solar cell wafer; and, during transporting, directing a laser beam to the solar cell wafer.

Abstract

Embodiments of the present invention generally relate to methods of printing MWT solar cells. The methods include positioning the non-light-receiving side of a solar cell substrate on a support. The solar cell substrate has a plurality of holes formed therethrough. The plurality of holes are then metalized. Metalizing the holes includes applying a first silver-containing paste within the holes, or depositing the first silver-containing paste on the interior surface of the holes. The first silver- containing paste is in electrical communication with the front surface and the back surface of the substrate. Then, a plurality of collection fingers are formed on the front surface of the substrate using a second silver-containing paste. The plurality of collection fingers are electrically coupled and extend substantially radially from at least one of the holes. The substrate may then be flipped, and one or more printing processes may be performed on the back surface of the substrate.

Embodiments of the invention also provide an inspection system and supporting hardware that is used to reliably position a similarly shaped, or patterned, metal contact structure on the patterned heavily doped regions to allow an Ohmic contact to be made.
