Additionally, a method of handling a foldable tricycle movable between a first position and a second position includes applying a force to the seat of the tricycle, wherein the applied force on the seat causes the tricycle to move from the first position to the second position.
A pedaled vehicle includes a frame, a wheel rotatably coupled to the frame, a crank assembly operatively coupled to the wheel and having a bore, a pedal received in the bore, and a spring clip for securing the pedal to the crank assembly. The spring clip includes at least one flexible tab or leg capable of flexing between a first configuration, where the spring clip allows a shaft of the pedal to pass through the bore, and a second configuration, where the pedal shaft is prevented from being removed from the bore. A child vehicle includes a front portion having a front wheel and a first handlebar configured to steer the vehicle, and a rear portion coupled to the front portion and having a rear wheel. The front portion is capable of rotating relative to the rear portion about a first pivot axis. A pivot member is coupled to the vehicle and rotatable about a second pivot axis between a first position and a second position. In the first position, the pivot member operates as a seat for supporting a rider thereon to define a ride-on configuration. In the second position, the pivot member operates as a second handlebar to define a scooter configuration. The second handlebar is also configured to steer the vehicle when in the scooter configuration. The vehicle may include a graphical interface for decorating or otherwise marking the vehicle in a manner preferred by the child.
A pivot mechanism includes a base member configured to be coupled to a first element and a generally cylindrical rotating member configured to be coupled to a second element. An elongate pin extends through the base member and rotating member and defines a pivot axis. The rotating member is capable of rotating relative to the base member about the pivot axis. The elongate pin is movable in a direction generally parallel to the pivot axis between a secured position and a release position. In the secured position, the rotating member is prevented from rotating relative to the base member, and in the release position, the rotating member is permitted to rotate relative to the base member.
