Abstract

The invention relates to a method for producing a decorative surface on a workpiece (1) comprising the following steps: delivering (S10) the workpiece (1), which is coated with a liquid layer (2), to a digital printing station; applying (S12) a medium, which is designed to at least partially absorb electromagnetic radiation, at least to a portion of the surface of the liquid layer (2), or which medium, when in contact with the surface, allows a reaction product to be produced, which reaction product is designed such that the reaction product can at least partially absorb electromagnetic radiation; irradiating (S14) the surface of the liquid layer (2) and of the medium with electromagnetic radiation having a wavelength of less than 300 nm, preferably less than 250 nm, particularly preferably less than 200 nm. The invention further relates to a device (18) for carrying out this method.
