Abstract

The invention relates to a wrapping material (1) for wrapping an article (10), which is based on glassine paper with a surface weight ranging from 25 to 50 g/m2, said wrapping material (1) being provided in the form of a web. The web has: i. a first lateral surface (S1), ii. a second lateral surface (S2) lying opposite the first lateral surface (S1), and iii. at least one web section (B) with a first and second outer region section (2, 3) and inner region sections (4, 5, 6, 7, 8), wherein the inner region sections are arranged between the outer region sections (2, 3). A heat-seal coating is applied onto the glassine paper on at least one of the two lateral surfaces (S1, S2) in at least one first outer coating region (2a-2g) in the first outer region section (2) of the web section (B), and a heat-seal coating is applied onto the glassine paper on at least one of the two lateral surfaces (S1, S2) in at least one second outer coating region (3a-3g) in the second outer region section (3) of the web section.
