Abstract

The present invention relates to a monochromator (30) for monochromatizing a beam of y-photons, x-ray photons having an energy higher than 10 keV or neutrons of an energy below 1 eV, wherein the monochromator comprises a plurality of first (18a, 20a, 22a) and second (18b, 20b, 22b) Laue-crystals and refractive deflection means (24), said refractive deflection means being arranged in series with said first Laue-crystals (18a, 20a, 22a).

Abstract

The invention relates to a method for producing a radionuclide product B. The method comprises the following steps: Providing a target comprising an amount of a nuclide A, providing a γ beam and irradiating the target by the γ beam and thereby transmuting at least a portion of the amount of the nuclide A into the product B. Providing the target comprises selecting a nuclide A, such that A is transmutable into product B by a γ induced nuclear reaction. Moreover, providing the γ beam comprises providing a γ beam by Compton back- scattering of laser light from an electron beam.

Abstract

An ionizing radiation detector has conductive tubes arranged in parallel and containing a pressurized gas mixture, a conductive wire being pulled tight at the center of each tube and capable of being biased with respect thereto. Each tube is divided into isolated longitudinal sections. All the tube sections of a same transverse slice are electrically connected. Each group of sections of a same slice includes means for being connected to an elementary detector, wherein each slice is formed of a grid of blades.
