Abstract

An adjustable width split door jamb assembly (300) comprises two separate first and second components (300A) and (300B) that are designed with inter-connecting profiles that provide a tight fit. A fastener locks the first and second components at the required width. A reinforcing hinged bracket (500) is secured to the rear of the first and second components (300A) and (300B) to lock and reinforce the connection. The split door jamb with reinforcing hinged bracket is secured to a building frame via screws from the plates (flanges) of the hinged bracket.

Abstract

A cornice block (200) for mounting to a junction between a wall and ceiling, and is used to locate and install a cornice profile (300) thereto. The cornice block (200) comprises a ceiling face (202) and a wall face (204) which are oriented at 90° to each other and form the mounting faces of the cornice block (200). Opposite to the mounting faces, the cornice block (200) comprises a cornice profile locating recess (210). The locating recess (210) is shaped and is defined by formations (220) which extend generally parallel to each other from upper and lower edges of the cornice block (200). The locating recess (210) includes a profile mount face (240) having a central concealed fastener (212) having cornice profile attachment means (214) which extends in a generally outward direction of the locating recess (210). The formations (220) thus define the sides of the locating recess (210) and the profile mount face (240) defines the base of the locating recess (210), with the base (profile mount face 240) having upwardly extending attachment means (214).

Abstract

A hinge (200) comprising an elongate connecting knuckle (240) to which a door flange (220) and frame flanges (230) are pivotably attached. The door flange (220) has a plurality of symmetrically located screw holes (260) such that the screw holes (260) are in alignment with screw holes formed in a door in use with the frame flange (230) disposed on either side of the door, resulting in a reversible hinge enabling the door swing to be changed from a left-hand to a right-hand door swing or vice versa. The hinge is for use with a hinge reinforcement plate (300) (or stand-off plate 300) which comprises end portions (310) and centre portion (320) offset relative to the end portions (310). Hollow self-clinching spacer pieces (360) extend from the underside of the stand-off plate (300). The spacer pieces (360) comprise internal threads (370) and are embedded into the door frame in use and provides means for securing hinge screws through the door frame.

Abstract

A fastener extension (10) comprises a body (12) having a central aperture (14) through which the shank of a normal fastener (e.g., screw, nail or bolt) can extend through, while the head of the fastener is held by the body (12). The body (12) comprises a washer shaped head portion (16) and a tubular shoulder portion (18). The aperture (14) in the head portion (18) comprises a recess (20) which is shaped to receive the head of the fastener extending through the aperture (14). The shoulder portion (18) has an external diameter larger than the shank of the fastener extending through its central aperture (14). The shoulder portion (18) defines a stop surface (21) at a distal end thereof spaced from the head portion (16). The head portion (16) further comprises attachment means (30) formed in the first surface (24), which in one embodiment are three prongs spaced around the aperture (14). The prongs (14) extend in an opposite direction to the shoulder portion (18).
