Abstract

Forming apparatus (1) for forming a bell joint with a sealing gasket on an end of a plastic pipe comprises a mandrel (2) provided with a front portion (4), insertable longitudinally into a pipe end (51) of a plastic pipe (50), and a rear portion (5) for receiving a sealing gasket (10). Sectors (3) provided between the front and rear portions (4, 5) can move radially between an extended configuration (E) and a retracted configuration (F in fig.4). In the extended configuration, the sectors (3) have an external radial dimension (D1) equal to or greater than the external radial dimension (D2) of the sealing gasket (10). In use, the sectors (3) abut and radially expand a front edge of said pipe end (51) and guide it over said sealing gasket (10), preventing it from being crushed when the mandrel (2) is inserted in said pipe end (51).

Abstract

A cutting apparatus (1) for making cuts on plastic pipes comprises a supporting disk (2) rotatable about a rotation axis (Z); at least one cutting tool (11) supported by the supporting disk (2) via first support means (12) and movable at least towards the rotation axis (Z) for abutting and cut a side wall (100a) of the pipe (100); an adjustment disk (3) rotatable with the supporting disk (2) and having with respect to the latter a respective adjustable angular position about the rotation axis (Z), the adjustment disk (3) being provided with first moving means (15) for moving the cutting tool (11) towards the rotation axis (Z) when an angular position of the adjustment disk (3) with respect to the supporting disk (2) is changed; driving means (5) for rotating the supporting disk (2) and the adjustment disk (3) about the rotation axis (Z) with the same speed and comprising a first driving pulley (51), rotating the supporting disk (2) by a first belt (53), and a second driving pulley (52), rotating the adjustment disk (3) by a second belt (54); adjustment means (6) for changing the angular position of the adjustment disk (3) with respect to the supporting disk (2) and comprising a couple of adjustment pulleys (7) engaged by the second belt (54) and eccentrically fixed to a mobile adjustment carriage (8) so as to be movable with the adjustment carriage (8) along an adjustment direction (R) for moving a branch (54a) of the second belt (54) and changing the angular position of the adjustment disk (3) and to eccentrically rotate when moved by the second belt (54) and generate an oscillating component in the rotation motion of the adjustment disk (3) so as to move the cutting tool (11) with a linear reciprocating motion when moved by the first movement means (15) towards the rotation axis (Z).

Abstract

A pipe made of plastics includes a female end with a bell joint suitable to receive a male end of another pipe and an inner wall with a seat for a gasket suitable to abut an external wall of the male end. When the pipe and other pipe are connected, a joint is formed having a hydraulic seal. The inner wall of the bell joint has at least one closing lip with an annular shape, which extends towards the inside of the bell joint, towards an external front edge of the bell joint, and includes an abutment edge, which adheres to, and tightens with a predefined force, the external wall of the male end. The closing lip is interposed between the external front edge and the seat and forms, with the inner wall, an annular cavity that opens in the direction of the external front edge.
