Abstract

The object of the invention is a gas discharge tube for surge protection of different electronic devices, more precisely a gas discharge tube with a very thin design. The flat gas discharge tube includes a ceramic insulator (1), two metal electrodes (2,3), gas filling and a graphite coating (5) on the ceramic insulator, and is characterized in that the ceramic insulator is cylindrically shaped and has a wider ring (1a), a narrow ring (1b) with metallized layers (6,6') and a wider ring (1d), which is formed into a tip in the direction towards the centre of the ceramic insulator, wherein the distance between the planes with metallization is smaller than or equal to the distance of the inner wall (1d', 1d") of the ceramic tip. The insulation distance on the ceramic insulator between the electrodes is increased with the shape of the ceramic insulator and the shape of electrodes, which enables optimal performance of the gas discharge tube.

Abstract

The invention belongs to the field of devices for electronic surge protection, more precisely for a mechanism in a base part in combination with actuating elements of an overvoltage circuit breaker that allows simple electronic and position signalisation of a state of a surge protective device. The essence of the mechanism for signalling disconnection in a surge protective device of the invention lies in that due to mechanical links between individual module parts a rotational disc gets moved after a protective module has been disconnected and a tooth of the rotational disc disengages from a tooth of a plate in the base of the module and moves the plate to the left. Because of a spring, a pin of an actuator in the base part moves vertically into a round opening on the plate. As a side wall of the actuator is shaped in a slant manner, a switch of a micro switch is released, which micro switch electronically signalises disconnection. As the rotational disc moves its cylindrical holder simultaneously runs on a bend of the upper plate and actuates a button that moves and mechanically indicates module disconnection.

Abstract

The technical problem solved by the present invention is a constructional solution to a mechanically coded mechanism designed to prevent a false insertion of a detachable module into a base part of a surge protective device subject to voltage. The essence of the mechanically coded mechanism designed to prevent a false insertion of a detachable module into a base part of a surge protective device according to voltage lies in that the bottom of the base part intended for the arrangement of the detachable module is provided with vertical grooves, into which a coded combination of first pins is arranged according to the voltage, for which the detachable module is embodied. The housing of the detachable module [N2]is provided with grooves in the same verticals intended for the arrangement of a coded combination of second pins arranged on positions, in which there are no first pins in the base part.

Abstract

The technical problem solved by the present invention is a constructional solution to locking a detachable module, which allows securing the module from falling out from the base part of a surge protective device. The essence of the lock of the detachable module in the base part of the surge protective device of the invention lies in that locking buttons of a symmetrical assembly run along a specially shaped recess while the module is positioned and said buttons engage in the end position into a semi-circular horizontal section. When the buttons are simultaneously moved, the external side of the module indicates the mode »locked« or »unlocked«.

Abstract

The invention refers to gas discharge tubes with a metal body used for overvoltage protection, where discharge tubes are needed for highest current pulses. A gas discharge tube with a metal body for high-current surges consists of an external body (1) that is simultaneously an external electrode, a central electrode consisting of an internal part (3) and an external part (4), an insulating element (5), an insulating element (6), graphite paths (8) and a mixture (7) of gases in the interior of the discharge tube, wherein in the interior of a part (1b) of the body (1) there is arranged a cylindrical shield (2), which houses about one third of the internal part (3) of the central electrode. A narrower external part (4) of the central electrode protrudes through the insulating element (5) and the insulating element (6), wherein the insulating element (5 and/or 6) is provided with a coating of graphite conductive paths (8) having a thickness only about one micrometre or less. The graphite path (8) is shaped approximately like a capital letter J and is arranged on the insulating element (5). The insulating element (6) is shaped like a plate with a hole, where the plate does not extend to the external electrode (1). The shield function of the arc is thus provided for in order to protect the graphite coating on the insulating element (5).

Abstract

The excess voltage circuit breaker with a rotational disc and an electronic assembly to improve operation liability solves a problem of construction of electronic and mechanical disconnection of a connection terminal of an excess voltage protective element based on e. g. spark gaps, varistors, semi-conductors like diodes, thyristors and similar elements in case of occurrence of electric arc and electric thermal overloads. The essence of the excess voltage circuit breaker of the invention lies in an electronic assembly of a component (2) which comprises a resistor (PTC) with positive thermal coefficient which is connected in parallel to a gas circuit breaker (GDT). The resistor (PTC) is a resistor (2d) in the embodiment. The circuit breaker (GDT) comprises two gas circuit breakers (2b and 2c), wherein the common exit point of the resistor (2d) and the circuit breaker (GDV) is via thermal member (V), which is simultaneously a connection electrode (2f) arranged on a varistor (2a) body. The electronic assembly of the component (2) functions in a way that in case of rapid transition events a branch with the gas circuit breaker (GDT) is operable and in case of sporadically increased voltages the branch via the resistor (2d) is operable. The resistor (2d) with positive thermal coefficient limits the current through the varistor (2a). The varistor (2a) in low ohmic state allows high current to run through the varistor (2a) thus enabling the operation of external over-current protection. The movement of the connection electrode (2f) triggers the movement of the rotational disc (4), the spring (5), the latching plate (6) which changes the state of the indicator (8).
