Abstract

A device and a method for cutting a loaf of bread in slices having an input compartment adjacent to a set of parallel oblong blades which can be driven back and forth in their longitudinal direction. A pusher movable between a retracted position in relation to the blades and an end cutting position pushes the bread through the blades. A detector is provided to detect the presence of an object in the access opening of an input compartment which cooperates with the blades' drive to stop the movement of the blades when the presence of an object in the access opening is detected. When the presence of an object in the access opening is detected while the pusher is in its retracted position, the movement of the blades starts and the pusher will be moved from its retracted position to the end cutting position when the object is no longer detected in the access opening.

Abstract

A bread slicer includes an input compartment for a loaf of bread to be sliced and an output compartment for the sliced loaf. Blades for slicing the loaf are arranged substantially parallel to one another between the compartments. A thrust means extends at least on the side of the input compartment and permits exertion of a push force on the loaf while the latter is moving through the set of blades by clamping the loaf between the thrust means and the base of the input compartment. The base and the thrust means define a passage in the input compartment for the loaf. The thrust means presents a guiding plate with parallel recesses extending next to each other over the width of the passage. A mobile pusher device allows exertion of a pushing force on the loaf to move the loaf along the passage and through the set of blades.

Abstract

The invention relates to a machine for automatically cutting into slices a loaf of bread (3) or an equivalent foodstuff, comprising a loading compartment (1) and a receiving compartment (4), a cutting device (7) and a supporting surface (2) for the loaf of bread (3) extending into the two compartments. A first slot (5) is provided in the supporting surface (2) between the aforementioned compartments (1, 4), through which said cutting device (7) can move in order to cut slices of bread (3). A guide surface (11) is provided which forms a wall of the loading compartment (1) and extends substantially transversally relative to the supporting surface (2). Said machine is characterised in that it comprises a bearing surface (16) extending into the receiving compartment (4), aligned with the guide surface (2). Said bearing surface is followed by a sliding surface (17) forming a flaring of a receiving compartment (4) which allows the free-fall of a cut slice (15) of the loaf of bread (3).

Abstract

The invention relates to a machine and to a method for cutting a loaf of bread (2) into slices, according to which a loaf of bread (2) is placed against a supporting surface (3) in a first compartment (1), and then is moved downwards towards a second compartment (5). During the movement, the loaf of bread (2) is cut into slices between the first and second compartment while the cut portion of the loaf of bread (2) is supported by a mobile support (4) moving at a speed substantially equal to the speed of movement of the loaf of bread (2) at least until the loaf has been completely cut. After the loaf of bread has been placed against said supporting surface (3), the machine grips the top end (9) of the loaf of bread (2) via hanging means (7) and said end (9) of the loaf of bread is held against gravity during the downward movement thereof while the slices are cut.

Abstract

The invention relates to a device for the automated slicing of bread, including at least a first assembly (4) of bread cutting blades and at least one first supporting frame (5) for said blade assembly, each supporting frame having a substantially rectangular shape and including two longitudinal members arranged substantially parallel to each other and two transverse members arranged substantially parallel to each other and substantially perpendicular to the two longitudinal elements. Each frame consists of a first (5a) and a second (5b) substantially rectangular single-piece rigid elements assembled together, each rigid element including a portion of each longitudinal member and of each transverse member of the frame having a shape complementary to that of a homologous portion of the other rigid element of said frame and being arranged so that said rigid elements impart a three-dimensional structure for said frame together. Such a frame has a correct rectangular shape and does not include cohesion irregularities between the members thereof, unlike frames of the prior art, and is therefore more stable and less subject to deformation.

Abstract

Device (1) for the automated cutting of bread into slices, comprising a carcass (1a), a first table (2) for loading a loaf that is to be sliced into the slicer and a second table (3) for unloading the sliced loaf from the slicer, at least one first set of bread-cutting blades (4a), a pusher (5), a means (6) of moving the pusher, a motor (7) and a means (8) of converting the movement generated by the motor into an oscillatory movement of each set of blades. The motor and the conversion means are contained in a module (9) and this module is connected to the carcass of the slicer by a flexible connection means (10) designed to isolate this carcass from the vibration caused by the said motor and conversion means, thus eliminating for the user the problem of acoustic and tactile discomfort afforded by slicers of the prior art and the problem of having to adapt the carcass of this slicer to fit the type of motor used.
