Abstract
An apparatus comprises a writing device (1) and an electronic device (50). The electronic device (50) has a headphone socket which receives and releasably retains a conventional headphone jack plug. The writing device (1) is elongate and has first and second ends (6, 8). The first end (6) has a nib (16) and is shaped to be received by and releasably retained in the headphone socket of the electronic device (50). The second end (8) is shaped to be received by and releasably retained in the headphone socket of the electronic device (50). In a first, housed configuration the first end (6) is releasably retained in the headphone socket and the second end (8) is exposed remote from the electronic device (50). In a second, writable configuration the second end (8) is releasably retained in the headphone socket and the first end (6) is exposed remote from the electronic device (50) to enable the writing device (1), in combination with the electronic device (50), to be used to write with.
