Abstract

Provided is a threading device for an overlock sewing machine for which the overall device has been made compact and with which the operator can securely perform threading with one hand. The device comprises: a threading shaft, which moves vertically and is supported to be rotatable with the shaft center as the central axis; a threading hook having a hooking section, which is fastened to the lower end of the threading shaft and is capable of being inserted into the eye of a sewing needle, and a first guiding section, which guides the hooking section to the eye of the needle; and a thread-guiding member, which guides the upper thread to the hooking section near the limit of descent of the threading shaft. The device rotates the threading hook by a prescribed angle so that the hooking section is inserted in the eye of a sewing needle near the limit of threading shaft descent. The threading hook and the thread-guiding member are rotated in mutually opposite directions and the thread-guiding member is rotated by a prescribed angle so that a thread-catching section passes the position of the sewing needle and intersects with the sewing needle near the limit of threading shaft descent. The threading shaft is moved according to the relative positional relationships between the eyes of multiple sewing needles.

Abstract

Provided is a micro-adjustment return mechanism for an overlock machine whereby, with a simple structure, can reliably return a thread tension micro-adjustment means for minutely adjusting the thread squeezing pressure of a tension plate to the origin position thereof. The present invention includes: a thread tension setting means (3) for collectively setting the thread squeezing pressure of a plurality of tension plates to a desired pressure; and thread tension micro-adjustment means (30a) that can be rotatably moved from the origin position to any other position to minutely adjust each set thread squeezing pressure. The present invention is also provided with: rotating bodies (30) that respectively rotate in association with the thread tension micro-adjustment means (30a), and include a projection (30b) on one surface thereof; and pairs of opposing slider crank mechanisms that surround each projection (30b). The fulcrums of the cranks of a pair of slider-crank mechanisms and the rotation center of a corresponding rotating body (30) are arranged so as to coincide. By setting and operating the thread tension setting means (3), the common slider is returned in the direction heading from the rotation center of the corresponding rotating body (30) toward the origin position thereof, such that the projection (30b) is held between the cranks.

Abstract

Provided is a tensioner for an overlock machine, which can collectively adjust, with one dial, the thread squeezing pressure of each tension adjustment mechanism, and in which the position of a tension plate does not change despite a micro-adjustment to the thread squeezing pressure. The following are coaxially disposed: a plurality of tension plates (21), each of which has one end side that applies, to each thread, the thread squeezing pressure set depending on the sewing method; a plurality of impelling members (25) impelling the tension plates (21) by the thread squeezing pressure; and a plurality of end face cams (24) having mutually different profiles, and controlling the impelling force of the impelling members (25). Also provided are: an operation dial (3) that collectively rotates the plurality of end face cams (24); and a tension plate pressing gear (26) that can coaxially move leftward and rightward, between the tension plates (21) and the impelling members (25), so as to adjust the impelling force of the impelling members (25).

Abstract

Provided is a device for threading the lower looper of a sewing machine, the device being capable of safe and reliable threading of the lower looper by reliably preventing the rotation of the main shaft when the lower looper is being threaded. Below a needle plate (100), a looper thread (20) is threaded through a looper hole (16) of a lower looper (15). Provided are: a first moving part (11) wherein a threading part (17), which has a hook (18) that can be inserted into the looper hole (16) of the lower looper (15), is fixed on one end; a second moving part (13) connected so as to be movable in the direction opposite to the first moving part (11) and to which an operator part (14) is connected on the same side as the hook (18); and a lock lever (30) having a protrusion (32) below that engages with a groove (42) in a grooved cam (41) fitted on the main shaft (40) and a protrusion (31) above that contacts the operator part (14). When the protrusion (32) of the lock lever (30) engages with the groove (42), the operator part (14) and the protrusion (31) of the lock lever (30) separate and do not restrict the movement of the second moving part (13).

Abstract

Disclosed is a thread slack adjustment device for use in sewing machines which is capable of adjusting the amount of thread slack in overcast stitches without compromising the degree of freedom of the design in terms of placement, size, etc., of the needle plate. The disclosed device is provided with: a lower blade (12) which, disposed more towards the front than a needle entry position, is capable, paired with an upper blade, of cutting the edge of the processing fabric fed to the needle entry position and of moving left and right perpendicularly to the fabric feeding direction; a thread slip member (51) which, supported by a needle plate (100) so as to allow rocking left and right, sets the amount of slack of an overcast thread by the thread being hung across to a tip part when sewing near the needle entry position; and a rocking mechanism which rocks the thread slip member (51) left and right by moving in conjunction with the left and right movement of the lower blade (12).

Abstract

Disclosed is a sewing machine thread-cutting device which reliably hooks, captures, and guides a thread to a fixed blade. Further disclosed is a sewing machine thread-cutting device in which maintenance, such as changing the fixed blade, is simple. The device is provided with: a thread-capture member which has a hook unit for hooking the thread, and which hooks and captures the thread on the hook unit in the rim of the inner shuttle (21) of a horizontal shuttle by means of a linear reciprocating motion at the bottom of a needle plate; and a fixed blade which cuts the thread captured by the thread capture member. In a portion of the upper part of the side wall unit forming the bobbin receptacle which houses the bobbin of the inner shuttle (21), the horizontal shuttle has an overhang portion (24) below which the thread capture member can reciprocate, and on the top surface of the overhang portion (24), the horizontal shuttle is provided with a guiding member (26) for guiding the thread to the region where the thread capture member (14) reciprocates below the overhang portion (24).

Abstract

A bobbin thread feeder of sewing machine of simple structure in which the bobbin thread can be fed surely with appropriate tension. In the rotating hook bobbin case holder (20) of a horizontally rotating shuttle (30) provided in the machine frame, a looper thread bobbin (21) can be contained removably through an opening (17) for containing a looper thread bobbin. A tension plate and a tension spring are fixed while overlapping along the inner circumference of the rotating hook bobbin case holder (20) and function as a tension generating section (22) for imparting a resistance to the bobbin thread being fed out while passing between the tension plate and the tension spring. A throat plate (16) having an opening for putting the looper thread bobbin (21) in and out is provided above the rotating hook bobbin case holder (20). A slit (27) for guiding the bobbin thread is formed in the throat plate (16) substantially linearly in the extending direction of the overlapping portion of the tension plate and the tension spring.
