Abstract

[Problem] To miniaturize a mechanism, in a writing implement, for moving a writing member forward by a length longer than the movement length of a knock member. [Solution] A writing implement (10) including: a barrel (20) that has a front-end opening part (20a); a writing member (12) that is disposed inside the barrel; and an appearance/disappearance mechanism (40) that makes a tip end of the writing member appear from or disappear into the front-end opening part. The appearance/disappearance mechanism has: a first slit (81) that extends spirally around a central axis (A) of the barrel and that can rotate in a circumferential direction (dc); a second slit (82) that is disposed at a front side of the first slit, that extends spirally around the central axis, and that can rotate in the circumferential direction integrally with the first slit; a first engagement member (91) that is engaged with the first slit; and a second engagement member (92) that is engaged with the second slit. The movement length (L2) of the second engagement member in the axial direction (da) when the first slit and the second slit integrally rotate in the circumferential direction is longer than the movement length (L1) of the first engagement member in the axial direction.

Abstract

The present invention provides a reversibly thermochromic microcapsule pigment which easily changes, upon heating, from a decolored state to a colored state and sharply returns again to the decolored state, at a temperature in the range of living environmental temperatures or at a temperature around daily-living temperatures. This reversibly thermochromic microcapsule pigment is one obtained by microencapsulating a reversibly thermochromic composition comprising (A) an electron-donating color-assuming organic compound, (B) a 4-hydroxybenzoic acid ester compound represented by general formula (1) as an electron-accepting compound, (C) a compound, e.g., a chain hydrocarbon, as a reaction medium for reversibly causing electron transfer reactions between the (A) and the (B), (D) a linear dibasic acid compound having 3-22 carbon atoms, and (E) a compound, e.g., an aromatic hydrocarbon, having a melting point of 50°C or higher. (In formula (1), R represents a C12-C22, linear or branched alkyl group.)

Abstract

A mechanical pencil has: a shaft tube; a ferrule unit supported by the shaft tube; a lead holding unit having a chuck configured to relatively move with respect to the ferrule unit to eject lead held by the same; and an indication body provided movably in an axial direction. The indication body delimits from rearward a lead storage space formed rearward the chuck in the shaft tube. The indication body located at least at a predetermined position is viewable from outside the shaft tube. A length along the axial direction between a rear end of the lead storage space and a front end of the ferrule unit, in a state where the indication body has moved most rearward along the axial direction, is equal to or more than twice a length of spare lead to be stored in the lead storage space.

Abstract

Provided is a retractable writing instrument with which a stable writing feel is obtained by preventing any unwanted movement of the tip while writing, and little risk of unsatisfactory operation is presented. The present invention comprises: a barrel having an opening at the front end; a tip holder that can move in the axial direction of the barrel; a tip that can retract or extend along with the movement of the tip holder; an annular member that is loosely fitted in the inner periphery of the opening of the barrel and is capable of moving in the axial direction; and an elastic member that can connect the tip holder and the annular member so as to allow relative movement therebetween. A tapered contact surface is formed toward the front end in at least part of the outer periphery of the annular member, and a notch is formed in the part of the annular member, the inner diameter of the annular member decreasing when the contact surface is subjected to a load. A tapered guide surface is formed toward the front end in a part of the inner surface of the barrel, the contact surface being subjected to the load from the guide surface along with movement toward the front-end side of the tip holder.

Abstract

Provided is a writing implement in which the pen tip is supported in a tiltable manner so that the entire pen tip makes contact with a paper surface, and which makes it possible to relatively easily draw a straight line as intended. The front portion of the pen tip extends in a linear direction that is tilted at an acute angle with respect to the axis direction in a side view, and the cross section of the front portion of the pen tip with respect to the extending direction has a substantially rectangular shape. A holding member has a holding portion that surrounds at least a part of the front portion of the pen tip. The holding portion has openings that are provided on both longer dimension sides of the substantially rectangular cross section of the front portion of the pen tip. The vertex portion of the pen tip is formed to be substantially straight in a side view, and is substantially perpendicular to the extending direction of the front portion of the pen tip. The back end edge of each of the openings is formed to be substantially straight in a side view, and is substantially parallel to the vertex portion of the pen tip. The holding portion has an extending piece that extends in a direction substantially parallel to the extending direction of the front portion of the pen tip and that is provided on a shorter dimension side of the substantially rectangular cross section of the front portion of the pen tip, said shorter dimension side being on the inner side in a side view.

Abstract

This ballpoint pen tip (40) comprises a ball (42) having a diameter of 0.5 mm or less and a tip body (50) that holds the ball, wherein: the tip body has a ball holding chamber (52) that holds the ball, a rear hole (57) located behind the ball holding chamber, an ink flow hole (62) that allows the ball holding chamber and the rear hole to communicate with each other, and an ink flow groove (64) that extends in a radial direction (dr) from the ink flow hole, is open to the ball holding chamber, and does not reach the rear hole; a ratio (A/B) of an ink consumption A to a diameter B of the ball per 100 m of handwriting is 200 mg/mm or more and 800 mg/mm or less; and when a front end (64a) of the ink flow groove is set as a start point S1, when a location of the ink flow hole extending rearward from a front end (62) by 0.3 mm is set as an end point S2, the volume of a first space part (SA) in the ink flow hole and the ink flow groove from the start point to the end point is 0.02 mm3 or more.

Abstract

[Problem] To provide: a reversible thermochromic composition, in which a fluoran derivative with a specific structure is used as an electron-donating and coloring organic compound and, therefore, which exhibits a black color upon color development and changes to colorless upon decoloration and which has excellent light resistance; and a microcapsule pigment encapsulating the reversible thermochromic composition. [Solution] A reversible thermochromic composition that comprises: (a) a fluoran derivative with a specific structure as an electron-donating and coloring organic compound; (b) a compound with a specific structure as an electron accepting compound; and (c) a reaction medium that reversibly causes an electron transfer reaction between the component (a) and component (b) in a specific temperature range. A reversible thermochromic microcapsule pigment that encapsulates the reversible thermochromic composition.
