The invention relates to a dental laser treatment instrument comprising a handpiece (1) which is connected to a supply tube for supplying laser radiation and a treatment fluid, and has a long extraction element (30) on the front end (4) thereof, for emitting the laser radiation. The extraction element (30) has a long optical fibre (31) and a cylindrical or sleeve-type holding element (32, 33) which surrounds the optical fibre (31) in a region facing the front end (31b) of the fibre (31), at a distance from said fibre, in order to form a fluid channel (22),. The fluid channel (22) is connected to a supply line (8, 9) extending through the handpiece (1). The invention relates to a treatment device, particularly a dental treatment instrument (1). The treatment device comprises a drive unit, such as a turbine (4), for driving a tool, such as a dental drill (2). A spray supply line (3) serves the supply of a cooling medium to a treatment site to be treated by the tool. According to the invention, monitoring means are further provided, such as in the form of a valve arrangement (8), by means of which it can be determined whether the tool is in contact with the treatment site. In the case of the valve arrangement (8), pressure in a line (7), in which the return air from the turbine (4) is guided, may serve for this purpose. The monitoring means can activate the means for supplying the cooling medium such that the release of the cooling medium is carried out automatically when a contact is determined between the tool and the treatment site to be treated. For this purpose, the valve arrangement (8) further has a displaceable plunger (5), which can press onto the spray supply line (3) such that, depending on the pressure, more or less cooling medium flows through the spray supply line (3). By means of the invention, the consumption of cooling medium and the expense of energy can be reduced, and the treatment conditions can be improved.

The present invention relates to a coupling for producing a detachable connection between a medical, in particular dental, handpiece part and a supply tube and for transmitting current and, if appropriate, other supply media from the supply tube to the handpiece part. The coupling comprises two coupling elements (3, 4), wherein one of the two coupling elements (3) can be arranged on the supply tube and the other (4) can be arranged on the handpiece part. Arranged on one of the two coupling elements (3), there is a guide element (5) that can be inserted into an insert opening (6) formed on the other coupling element (4). In a defined relative position of rotation of the two coupling elements (3, 4), a slide element (7) with current contacts engages in a corresponding recess of the second coupling element (4), wherein the two coupling elements (3, 4) can be rotated relative to each other about a rotation axis (D) when the guide element (5) has been inserted or at least partially inserted and before the predefined coupling position is reached. A reliable quick-coupling is thus formed that permits particularly easy handling.
The invention relates to a dental treatment chair (10) having a column-type base (2), a seat (11) that is arranged to the side of the base (2) and that can be height-adjusted in relation to said base between a base position and a highest position, a drive (20) that is used for adjusting the height of the seat (11) and that is situated in the base and a transmission mechanism that couples the seat (11) to the drive (20), said mechanism comprising a vertically displaceable support arm (30, 40) on which the seat (11) is fixed to the end facing away from said drive (20). The invention relates to a medical, in particular dental treatment device comprising a specialists element (3) or similar, that can be adjusted in a position in relation to the base of the device by means of a retaining arm. For adjusting, a handle (6) or similar is provided on the said specialists element (3). The invention relates to a medical tool (5) for cutting a hard material wall (7) comprising a rod (5i) provided with a working area (5c) on at least one part of the length thereof which carries out an abrasive action by vibration or rotation.
