The invention relates to a winding machine for winding thin films, in particular plastic films, having a winding roller, on which the film is wound, and a contact roller, which presses the wound film against the winding roller, wherein measures are provided by means of which, in the region of the nip area, in which there is contact between the winding roller and the contact roller and the film therebetween, the contact pressure is significantly higher than known contact pressures, this being achieved by strengthening the components used, in particular the winding levers, or by doubling the winding levers and the associated actuators for adjusting the contact roller or the winding roller.
