Abstract

The invention relates to a handheld kitchen utensil (1) comprising a longitudinal handle (2), a movable transverse blade (4) and a blade-holding member (3) in the form of a two-pronged fork (31, 32) at the free ends of which the movable transverse blade is mounted so as to be able to rotate about a first rotation axis (Y). According to the invention, the blade-holding member (3) is mounted on the handle so as to be able to rotate freely by way of a pivoting connection (5) that pivots about a second rotation axis (Z) perpendicular to the axis of the handle and to the first rotation axis and is configured to turn from a neutral position about the second rotation axis over a limited rotary travel extending symmetrically on either side of the axis of the handle, the pivoting connection comprising elastic return means (52) that are able to generate a return torque towards the neutral position.
