Abstract

A method for purifying powdered silicon carbide is in the form of a starting material to form a silicon carbide having a purity of at least 99.9%. This method has the following method steps: providing a starting material having a grain size of less than 100 μm and a silicon carbide content with at least 98% purity; and heating the starting material in a vacuum or oxygen-free atmosphere to a temperature above 1700° C. over a period of at least 8 minutes.

The invention relates to a method for covering a primary element (20; 30) for optical spectacles (1), which comprises: - preparing a moulding composition comprising a mixture of cork particles in a thermoformable elastomeric material; - producing a first embedding member (25; 35) and a second embedding member (26; 36) by moulding the moulding composition, each embedding member having an outer face and an inner face in which a groove bordered by at least one bearing zone is provided; - positioning the first embedding member and the second embedding member around the primary element so as to be inside the grooves, the bearing zones being in contact with one another; and - securing the bearing zones together so that the embedding members form an outer covering fitting, at least partially embedding the primary element.

Abstract

A method of manufacturing spectacle arms includes grooving an inner face of a first cover plate to form grooves and providing a gauge with longilineal inserts. Front and rear bridges join front and rear ends of the longilineal inserts and provide front and rear indexing. The gauge is set on the inner face of the first cover plate such that the longilineal inserts are disposed in the grooves and a second cover plate is pressed and bonded on the inner face of the first plate such that the longilineal inserts are inserted between the first and second cover plates. The plates are cut around the longilineal inserts with a cutting tool after the cutting tool is positioned and held in place using corresponding front and rear tool indexing.
