The drill bit has a coupling part, which can be coupled with a coupling receptacle on the face of the base and has at least two convexly curved centring portions, which are arranged such that they are distributed over the circumference and engage with an exact fit in complementary concavely curved centring portions of the coupling receptacle. The coupling part has a complementary driver stop, meshing with a rotary driver of the coupling receptacle. It is claimed as novel that the centring portions of the coupling part and/or of the coupling receptacle have clamping surfaces, which run onto each other in the manner of a rotary wedge until the driver stop and the rotary driver come up against each other counter to a predetermined direction of rotation.

The setting tool (10) comprises a shaft body (12) having a key part (26). A key engagement (58) for actuating the adjustment device (55) is designed on the tool head (50). The key part (26) can be displaced relative to the shaft body (12) in the direction of the longitudinal axis (32) of said body in order to selectively couple and release the key part (26) of the setting tool (10) and the key part (58) at the interface (52) of the tool head (50).

A first brace (22) for the plate element (16) is provided on the plate seat (18), said brace having a support surface (34) against which the plate element (16) rests non-positively with a lateral plate surface. A further brace (24) is designed on the plate seat (18) for a lateral plate surface of the plate element (16) to rest against non-positively. In order to adjust the plate edge (38) of the plate element (16), an adjustment device (30) is associated with at least one brace (22) and enables the brace (22) to be raised and lowered with respect to the bottom support surface of the plate seat (18). A linear guide (50) is provided for said at least one brace (22), said guide absorbing the forces and torque occurring during the adjustment of the plate element (16) and introducing them into the main body (12) of the machine tool (10).
A drilling tool for machine tools has a drill body and a cutting head arranged on the front face of the drill body. The drill body has at least two chip flutes, which are delimited at their flanks by ribs and at least one of which is spirally curved. Said moldings are provided with thread-forming teeth (13, 14). Profile grinding tools are used to produce the thread-forming teeth (13, 14), both in the main body (1') as well as in the moldings (6). In order for the thread former to be produced easily and cost-effectively, the moldings (6) protrude radially beyond the main body (1') so far that the profile tool only engages with the molding when producing the thread-forming teeth (13, 14). Consequently, the profiling tool only has to machine one type of material. The thread former is used for the non-cutting shaping of threads, particularly of internal threads.
The invention relates to a machine tool with an adjustable cutting plate. The rotating machine tool substantially comprises a base member (12) with a rotating axis (10), at least one pocket (24) formed in the base member (12) and at least one blade support (20) holding a cutting plate (18). The cutting plate (18) protrudes over the blade support (20) with an effective blade (23) and over the base member (12) outward. In order to enable a fine-adjustment of tangential cutting plates in the base member, it is proposed that the base support surface (40) form a wedge surface that includes an acute angle together with a shift axis (56), said wedge surface disposed at an adjusting member (58) that can shift relative to the base member (12) along said shift axis (56), the base (38) of said blade support (20), in the shape of a complementary wedge, abutting against said wedge surface. A unique feature of the invention is that the shaft (10) comprises a peripheral groove (18) that extends along the circumference of the shaft and is open radially, and at least one spreading element (20) that engages in the peripheral groove and can be radially adjusted therein, resulting in the exertion of spreading and bending forced onto the groove flanks (24', 24''). The peripheral groove (18) is filled with a filler material (32) at least in the area of the spreading element (20), the filler material having both a sealing function against contaminants and a damping function. The filler material (32) also acts as a rotation prevention for the spreading elements.
The invention relates to a rotating cutting tool, in particular a boring tool for use in machine tools. The cutting tool comprises at least one cutting insert (16'), designed as an indexable insert, that has an active main blade (26) located near a corner (25) of the insert, the outer end (28) of said blade defining a circular flight path radius (R) as the blade rotates, said blade penetrating into a work piece (32) at a pre-determined cutting depth (t) near a pre-formed round hole (30). Also provided is a secondary blade (36) that is disposed opposite to an advancing direction (34) and that aligns with the outermost end (28) of the main blade (26), the entire length of said blade having a smaller radius than the circular flight path radius (R) of the main blade (26), wherein a secondary blade free surface (38) aligns with the secondary blade opposite to the direction of rotation (37). A unique characteristic of the invention is that the secondary blade free surface (38) comprises a support part (40) disposed at a distance from the secondary blade (36), the peripheral radius of said part being larger than the circular flight path radius R of the active main blade (26) by an overshoot amount (Y).

Junction between two components of a rotating tool system
A junction between two components of a tool system, that rotates about an axis of rotation, includes a conical seat, on the first component, coaxial to the axis of rotation and which is defined by an annular front face. The second component carries a coupling having a conical surface complementary to the conical seat and an annular end face resting against the front face. A tie bolt axially projects beyond the free end of the coupling pin and engages, in a cavity adjacent to the seat. The junction also has tensioning elements that are actuated from the exterior for mutually bracing the components, which are radially guided in the first component, and which act upon the tie bolt and are functionally linked with joint actuating means for adjustment between detached and tensioned positions. The tensioning elements include ejection portions that can be fitted with a rotatably received rolling element.
An indexable insert for solid drills has four identical cutting edges (30) arranged at a distance above a supporting base (42) and each extending between two cutting-edge corners (28′, 28′). The cutting edges are each bounded by a cutting face (46) and a clearance face (48), with the inclusion of a wedge angle (b). Of the cutting edges (30), one in each case is in an active operating position during the drilling operation. To permit optimum adaptation to the cutting conditions and drilling characteristics, varying over the length of the cutting edge of the drilling tool, it is proposed according to the invention that the height (h) of the four cutting edges (30), measured from the plane of the supporting base (42), and/or the clearance angle (a) varies over the length of the respective cutting edges (30).
