Abstract

A pneumatic clutch actuator includes an actuator housing, a piston assembly, a bearing carrier, and a locking element. The piston assembly is disposed within the actuator housing and is movable between a first position and a second position. The piston assembly has a piston head, an elongate member extending from the piston head, and a lock ring coupled to the elongate member. The bearing carrier supports a bearing and is slidably disposed on a portion of the actuator housing. The locking element is operatively connected to the piston assembly and engages the bearing carrier to adjust a total length of the piston assembly as the piston assembly moves from the second position towards the first position to compensate for wear of the clutch assembly.

Abstract

A clutch actuator (1) has a preload plunger able to move a clutch actuating pushrod (49) wherein the preload plunger (19) is able to be preloaded by a preload spring (21) arranged between the preload plunger and a movable body (17). The clutch actuator is adapted to be operated such that during use when the clutch is engaged there is a force-reducing gap (61) of width (x5) between the movable body and the preload plunger. Control means for controlling such a clutch actuator are also disclosed.

Abstract

Disclosed and claimed is a double-acting cylinder comprising a cylinder housing, a first floating piston, a second floating piston and a central piston which is movable to three stationary positions along an actuation direction of the cylinder. A movement of the floating pistons in the cylinder bore is delimited by end stop arrangements. A movement of the central piston in the cylinder bore is delimited by the first and the second floating piston. Each floating piston comprises a first section and a second section. A circumferential length of the floating pistons is greater in the first section than in the second section. In the first sections a first seal is arranged for a sealing engagement with an inner wall of the cylinder bore. In the second sections a second seal is arranged for a sealing engagement with the inner wall of the cylinder bore or an inner wall of the central piston.

Abstract

Abstract

A tube connector for attachment to an end of a tube of a pressurized fluid system has a housing, a main sealing element, a gripping element and a cone element. The main sealing element is arranged for sealing an inner surface of the housing to an outer surface of a tube. The gripping element comprises a gripping edge for engaging with an outer surface of a tube. The cone element limits a movement of the grip-ping element. The tube connector further has an integrated release element. The release element has a tubular part, a top part and an environmental sealing. A release edge of the tubular part engages with the gripping element and the environmental sealing is adapted for sealing a receptacle formed in the housing of the environment.

Abstract

A drain valve for a compressed air brake system of a vehicle comprises a valve housing defining a valve chamber open at one end and a drain aperture at the opposite end. A poppet has a poppet body at least partially received in the valve chamber and provided with a seal. The poppet is slidable between a closed position in which the poppet and the seal contact the inner wall of the valve housing around the drain aperture thereby closing the drain aperture, and an open position moved away from the drain aperture. A spring urges the poppet to the closed position. The poppet and the seal are incorporated in a single multi-component injection molded plastic part comprising at least two components. The poppet body is formed of a first plastic component and the seal is formed of a second plastic component partially embedded in the first plastic component.

Abstract

A hysteresis assembly for a pedal includes an elastic member support, two adjacent hysteresis blocks, and an elastic member connecting the elastic member support to the more distant hysteresis block. The hysteresis blocks interface at a slope. The assembly is attached at one end to a mounting bracket for the pedal via a shaft, and at the other end to the pedal arm. As the pedal is displaced, the hysteresis blocks slide relative to each other and frictionally engage the mounting bracket. The frictional force is proportional to the return force generated by the elastic member. Abstract

An electronic pedal assembly including a treadle, a pedal arm connected to the treadle, and a rotor assembly about which the pedal arm rotates. The assembly also includes one or more Hall sensors positioned within a cavity in the rotor assembly and one or more magnets that fixedly attached to the rotor assembly. The Hall sensors detect the position of the treadle by monitoring the positions of the magnets. Also, a method of monitoring an electronic pedal assembly using one or more magnets and one or more Hall sensors.
