Abstract

The present invention relates to a composition for enhancing immune function or preventing, ameliorating or treating obesity or a metabolic disease, a prebiotic composition or a composition for preventing, ameliorating or treating leaky gut syndrome, comprising an Acorus gramineus Solander extract as an active ingredient. The Acorus gramineus Solander extract and a fraction thereof, of the present invention, have the following effects of: a) very greatly enhancing immune function, and improving immune function through dietary and lifestyle habits of daily life for a long period of time due to no toxicity thereof; b) inhibiting an increase in body weight and body fat, inhibiting an increase in blood glucose, reducing blood insulin concentration and HOMA-IR levels, alleviating impaired glucose tolerance, reducing blood ALT and AST levels and blood triglyceride and total cholesterol concentrations, and suppressing liver damage, thus being effectively usable for preventing and treating metabolic diseases as well as obesity; and c) ameliorating, preventing or treating leaky gut syndrome, such as selectively promoting the growth of beneficial intestinal microorganisms, improving the destroyed intestinal environment of a host by promoting the production of useful components (short-chain fatty acids) therefrom, recovering beneficial intestinal microorganisms, reducing increased intestinal mucous membrane permeability, and recovering reduced intestinal length. In addition, the Acorus gramineus Solander extract and a fraction thereof can ameliorate, inhibit and prevent intestinal infection caused by pathogenic bacteria, by maintaining the intestinal environment to be slightly acidic. The Acorus gramineus Solander extract and a fraction thereof, of the present invention, are derived from natural products, and thus have no problem with side effects or cytotoxicity.

Abstract

The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition and a health functional food composition, which include phloroglucinol active ingredient, for preventing, treating, or ameliorating somnipathy and suppressing intolerance to, alleviating, or ameliorating side effects of an agonist at the benzodiazepine binding site of the GABA-A receptor. The pharmaceutical composition and the food composition rapidly and reliably induce and maintain sleep, prevent repeated awakenings, unalter physiological sleep architecture, are particularly devoid of residual sedative effects, which could impair daytime functioning and cognitive performance, and neither cause side effects nor intolerance to a conventional agonist at the benzodiazepine binding site of the GABA-A receptor despite long-term administration. The pharmaceutical composition uses a reduced amount of the agonist, which may increase the amount of sleep but degrade the quality of sleep to cause various side effects, to alleviate side effects of the agonist or suppress tolerance to the agonist resulting from long-term administration.

Abstract

The present invention discloses a composition for alleviating lung diseases, such as asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, using the extracts of Paliurus ramosissimus (Lour.) Poir, Rosa davurica Pall., Picrasma quassioides, Camellia sinensis, Chrysosplenium grayanum, Reynoutria japonica, Pseudocydonia sinensis, Hydrangea serrata, and/or Euonymus alatus. The extracts of Paliurus ramosissimus (Lour.) Poir, Rosa davurica Pall., Picrasma quassioides, Camellia sinensis, Chrysosplenium grayanum, Reynoutria japonica, Pseudocydonia sinensis, Hydrangea serrata, and/or Euonymus alatus have the activities of inhibiting the netosis activation of neutrophil extracellular traps induced by phorbol myristate acetate (PMA), inhibiting the expression of IL-8, an inflammatory cytokine by CSE of NCI-H292 cells, a bronchial epithelial cell line producing mucus, and inhibiting the expression of MIP-2, an inflammatory cytokine of alveolar macrophages MH-S cells activated by CES and LPS (lipopolysaccaride). In addition, the extracts have the activities of inhibiting lung tissue damage in the mouse model of CSE and PPE induced respiratory disease, inhibiting immune cell infiltration of total cell, macrophages, lymphocytes, eosinophils, and neutrophils in BALF, and inhibiting the secretion of inflammatory cytokines and chemokines in BALF and lung tissue.

Abstract

Disclosed in the present invention is a composition for alleviating asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease by using a Epilobium pyrricholophum extract and the like that: inhibit NETosis induced by phorbol myristate acetate (PMA); inhibit the expression of inflammatory cytokines IL-6 and IL-8 in H292 cells, which are the bronchial epithelial cell line and are stimulated by cigarette smoke extract (CSE), porcine pancreas elastase (PPE) and ultrafine dust that is 2.5 micrometers or less in diameter (PM2.5); inhibit the expression of inflammatory cytokine MIP2 (IL-8) that are also in MH-S cells, which are mouse alveolar macrophages and are activated by CES; reduce the number of neutrophils and the like in BALF during animal model experimentation in which COPD is induced by using CES and PPE; and reduce, in BALF or lung tissues, the concentration of inflammatory cytokines such as MIP-2, TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6, KC, MCP-1 and IFN-γ and the concentration of MDC, GM-CSF, IL-17 and the like.

Abstract

The objective of the present invention is to provide a smart dosimeter coupled to a legal dosimeter, the smart dosimeter being used as if formed in one structure enabling the legal dosimeter to be attached and coupled to the smart dosimeter, detecting whether the legal dosimeter is worn by means of a sensor in the smart dosimeter, and enabling an instantaneous radiation exposure value to be checked in real time in order to provide help for enabling a safer operation to be performed. The smart dosimeter comprises: a motion detection unit for detecting a motion; a legal dosimeter detection unit for checking whether the legal dosimeter is coupled and fixed to a coupling part included in the smart dosimeter; a wearing-checking unit for checking whether a radiation worker is wearing the legal dosimeter, on the basis of motion information detected by the motion detection unit and coupling and fixation information checked by the legal dosimeter detection unit; a G-M detection unit for measuring and detecting, in real time, the exposure dose of the worker; and a data communication unit for transmitting the exposure dose detected by the G-M detection unit to a management server and receiving warning situation information from the management server.
