Abstract

A process for cleaning an abrasive belt using an air blade extending continuously over the entire working width, or several segmented air blades, as well as a device which encloses this air blade or these air blades having an extraction hood serving to guide away the dust-laden air. If this device is used for a belt grinding machine equipped with a workpiece vacuum device, the air supply requirements are optimised by use of a diverter to reduce the number of fans.

Abstract

A device has laterally mobile pressure devices on belt sanders in throughfeed, which are brought into position so that workpieces detected by detectors are sanded in a laterally limited area in the longitudinal direction. An arrangement of such pressure arrangements represents, for example, a segmented sanding pad. The method of lateral movement of its segments and the devices created for this purpose enable, among other things, the sanding of frames in the wood grain direction of their individual parts and/or their center panel as well as the application of sanding patterns to workpiece surfaces.

Abstract

The invention relates to a method for cleaning an abrasive belt by means of an air knife extending continuously over the entire working width or by means of a plurality of segmented air knifes, and to a device that surrounds said air knife or said air knives with an extraction hood (8) used to lead away the dust-laden air. If said device is used for a belt grinding machine that is equipped with a workpiece vacuum device, the expenditure for the air supply is reduced to a lesser need for fans by virtue of the use of a diverter.

Abstract

The invention relates to a device comprising laterally mobile pressure devices (16) on belt grinding machines in continuous operation. These pressure devices are positioned in such a way that workpieces (11) detected by detectors (14) are ground in a laterally limited area in the longitudinal direction. An arrangement of such pressure arrangements constitutes a segmented grinding pad, for example. The invention also relates to the method for laterally moving the segments (13) thereof and to the devices created for this purpose. These methods and devices enable, among other things, frames to be ground in the wood grain direction of their friezes and/or their internal fillings or also grinding patterns to be applied to workpiece surfaces.

Abstract

The invention describes a control unit for a sanding machine, which winds and unwinds the abradant paper over a contact device. This control unit continuously detects the position of one or more of these sanding machines, the abradant unwinding, the movement of the transport system and the position of the workpiece. These parameters are used to regulate the sanding machine(s) in such a way that the workpieces are fed through and the sanding operation executed without interruption.

Abstract

The invention relates to a transverse belt grinding device having a grinding belt (11), support belt (12), and guide rollers (14) at an output level (e) and a grinding pad having segments (19) at a level (g), implemented due to a deployment controller so that ultimately both the deployed segments (20, 21) and the guide rollers (14) can be dropped to an identical level (c) also corresponding to the top edge of the workpiece (b) in the grinding process. The identical level of the guide rollers and the deployed segments of the grinding pad during the grinding process guarantees uniform contact pressure of the grinding belt on the workpiece over the entire width thereof. Said effect is furthermore ensured by a device bringing about direct contact of the pad insert, the support belt (12), and the grinding belt (11) on the grinding pad by means of vacuum, magnetism, or electrostatic charge.

Abstract

A device is described comprising: a segmented sanding pad having a plurality of segments, each segment having a longitudinal axis and corresponding to a respective contact roller having a longitudinal axis, wherein, when the sanding pad is moved obliquely, the segments align in accordance with a degree of oblique movement, characterized in that the longitudinal axes of the individual contact rollers and the respective segments are aligned with respect to each other when the gap between the segments is adjusted to the longitudinal axis of the contact rollers.
