Abstract

A battery cell housing has a battery cell housing jacket with at least in areas a rectangular cross section and which can be manufactured very easily and at the same time allows the use of a wide range of aluminium alloys in order to be able to respond flexibly to various requirements of the battery cell housing. Increased strength requirements or thermal conductivity requirements are achieved in that the battery cell housing has a roll-formed tubular body made of an aluminium alloy as the battery cell housing jacket. The battery cell housing jacket is joined in the longitudinal direction and has at least in areas a rectangular cross section. The battery cell housing jacket is preferably being roll-formed from an aluminium alloy strip.

Abstract

A battery cell housing having an aluminium alloy strip or sheet. Abstract

The invention relates to a rolled product made of an aluminum alloy for producing a battery cell housing, to a method for producing the rolled product made of an aluminum alloy, to the use of the rolled product made of an aluminum alloy for producing a battery cell housing, and to a battery cell housing. The problem of proposing a rolled product made of an aluminum alloy that ensures economical use of secondary aluminum and at the same time ensures processability on existing production systems and tools for the manufacturing of battery cell housings is solved in that the rolled product made of an aluminum alloy for producing a battery cell housing has an aluminum alloy having the following alloy constituents in wt.%: 0.1% ≤ Si ≤ 0.7%, 0.2% ≤ Fe ≤ 0.8%, Cu ≤ 0.6%, 0.3% ≤ Mn ≤ 1.5%, 0.025% ≤ Mg ≤ 0.60%, preferably 0.05% < Mg ≤ 0.55%, Cr ≤ 0.25%, Zn ≤ 0.5 %, Ti ≤ 0.2%, the remainder Al and unavoidable impurities, individually at most 0.05%, in total at most 0.15%, wherein the rolled product has a tensile strength Rm of at least 135 MPa to at most 210 MPa, preferably at most 185 MPa, a yield point Rp0.2 of more than 125 MPa to at most 180 MPa, preferably at most 165 MPa, and an elongation A50 of more than 5%, preferably more than 7%.

Abstract

Spent potlining material contains spent potliner from aluminium electrolysis cells, and at least one hydrophobic binder. The hydrophobic binder being selected from wax, a waxlike compound or mixtures thereof. A method for producing a spent potlining material includes the steps of (a) providing spent potliner from aluminium electrolysis cells, (b) comminuting the spent potliner in at least one comminuting apparatus, (c) fractionating the spent potliner through a separating apparatus, (d) mixing the spent potliner with at least one hydrophobic binder, selected from wax, a waxlike compound or mixtures thereof, in a mixing apparatus, (e) portioning the mixture obtained in step (d), (f) withdrawing the spent potlining material The steps (b) to (d) are carried out in an inert gas atmosphere. Also, spent potlining material is used as fuel in power stations and also in connection with the production of mineral wool, cement and steel.

Abstract

A strip casting system for aluminium and/or aluminium alloys comprising a casting furnace and a revolving chill mould having a casting gap. Abstract

A method for the surface treatment of flat products made of aluminium alloys. The method includes pickling the flat product, in particular for degreasing the flat product. The method includes carrying out a colour measurement on the surface of the flat product to determine at least one measured colour value after pickling the flat product. The method includes generating output information on the basis of the at least one measured colour value. The output information is indicative of compliance with at least one rule for the measured colour value and outputting or triggering the output of the output information. The invention further relates to a device for the surface treatment of flat products made of aluminium alloys and to a use of a colorimeter which is configured to determine at least one measured colour value in a surface treatment of flat products made of aluminium alloys.

Abstract

The invention relates to a method for producing a strip made of an AlMgSi alloy in which a rolling ingot is cast of an AlMgSi alloy, the rolling ingot is subjected to homogenization, the rolling ingot which has been brought to rolling temperature is hot-rolled, and then is optionally cold-rolled to the final thickness thereof. The problem of providing a method for producing an aluminum strip made of an AlMgSi alloy and an aluminum strip, which has a higher breaking elongation with constant strength and therefore enables higher degrees of deformation in producing structured metal sheets, is solved in that the hot strip has a temperature of no more than 130° C. directly at the exit of the last rolling pass, preferably a temperature of no more than 100° C., and the hot strip is coiled at that or a lower temperature.
