Abstract

The invention relates to an assembly comprising a folding ladder and a platform for making a scaffold. The platform comprises a panel with a first securing device and a second securing device for securing the panel on the ladder, and is provided with an aperture through which the first securing device is manually operable from a top side of the platform. The first securing device comprises a latch that is movable between a locking position and an unlocking position, and is provided with a control portion configured to be engaged by hand via the aperture to enable movement of the latch between a locking position and an unlocking position. The latch has a gripper portion for in a locking position engaging a rung to secure the panel on the ladder, and for in an unlocking position disengaging the rung to enable the panel to be removed from the ladder.

Abstract

The invention relates to an A-frame ladder, comprising a first telescopic ladder assembly and a second telescopic ladder assembly that are hingedly connected such that the second ladder assembly is pivotal about a hinge axis relative to the first ladder assembly between a straight configuration and an A- configuration. The second ladder assembly, at a top end thereof, is hingedly connected to stand off arms, such that the hinge axis is in line with the stile members of the second ladder assembly, and the hinge axis, in a longitudinal direction of the ladder assemblies, is spaced relative to a top rung of the first ladder assembly at a first pivot distance, and is spaced relative to a top rung of the second ladder assembly at a second pivot distance, wherein the second pivot distance is smaller than the first pivot distance.

Abstract

A telescopically extendable and collapsible ladder assembly includes multiple collapsible ladder sections provided with an air damper at the bottom end of tubular stile members. The air dampers provide retardation of gravity induced velocity of the collapsible ladder sections upon collapse of the ladder sections. Multiple air dampers include a throttle valve securing device, for cooperating with a throttle valve of the air damper when the collapsible ladder section is in the collapsed position, to secure the throttle valve in its throttle position and/or an obturator device. The obturator device includes a first obturator member and a second obturator member where the first obturator member and the second obturator member are configured to, when the collapsible ladder section is in the collapsed position, in combination provide additional throttling.

Abstract

A telescopically extendable and collapsible ladder assembly has a bottom ladder section, a top ladder section, and one or more intermediate ladder sections. The ladder is, for one or more, e.g. for all, collapsible ladder sections, provided with a pair of air dampers, which air dampers provide retardation of gravity induced velocity of the collapsible ladder section upon collapse thereof. Each of the air dampers comprises an axially compressible and expandable air chamber member having an internal air chamber, said air chamber member being provided with means providing an air flow restricting passage for air pressurized in said internal air chamber and being forced out of said internal chamber upon mechanical compression of the air chamber member from an expanded state into a compressed state as the collapsing ladder section reaches its collapsed position, which air chamber member is adapted to expand upon later extension of said collapsing ladder section.

The frame also comprises a rear leg structure including rear legs (10,11), each being pivoted to a front leg via a first hinge (15, 16) for movement of the rear leg structure between a use position and a storage position. Portions (2a, 3a) of the front legs above the first hinges and the first support bar form a first workpiece support bracket (20). The frame further comprises an upper step (30) and one or more lower steps (35). The device comprises a pivotable rigid second workpiece support bracket (25) with a pair of arms (25a, 25b), each having a lower end pivotally connected via a second hinge (27, 28) to the frame, the second support bracket comprising a second support bar (26) interconnecting said arms at an upper end thereof. The second support bracket is pivotal between a use position, wherein the support brackets are in a V-shaped arrangement, and a collapsed position, wherein the support brackets are generally parallel to each other. In use position of the second support bracket, the first and second support brackets define workpiece support faces in a, preferably horizontal, support plane.

Abstract

A platform for installation on a folding ladder in scaffolding position, which folding ladder is of the type comprising multiple folding ladder sections, which are connected to one another by hinges, in which, in the scaffolding position, outer folding ladder sections form a ground support and central folding ladder sections form a bridge. The platform is composed of one or more plastic panels. These one or more panels are preferably made using a plastic blow-moulding technique . Particularly preferably, the platform is composed of two panels and the panels are of different length, which is preferably chosen such that the connection of the two panels is situated above a rung of a folding ladder section, preferably the rung closest to a central hinge of the folding ladder.
