Abstract

A chair (100, 300) is equipped with a dual-mode tilt and collapsing mechanism (110, 306), and/or a release mechanism (134) for reconfiguring the chair between a ready-to-use configuration and a collapsible configuration, and/or a leg extension and retraction mechanism (120, 316) for extending and retracting legs (130, 314) of the chair in response to moving a chair seat (132, 302) into and out of a collapsed position. Optionally the chair may be equipped with all three mechanisms, which provides for simplified conversion or reconfiguring of the chair between the ready-to-use configuration and the collapsed configuration that occupies substantially less floor space and less vertical space. Seating comfort of the chair is enhanced by the dual-mode tilt and collapsing mechanism (110, 306) in the ready-to-use configuration, which permits limited rearward tilting of the seat (132, 302) and seatback (150, 320) as a user shifts their weight on the seat.

Abstract

A chair is equipped with a dual-mode tilt and collapsing mechanism, and/or a release mechanism for use when reconfiguring the chair between a ready-to-use configuration and a collapsible configuration, and/or a leg extension and retraction mechanism that is operable to extend and retract legs of the chair in response to moving a chair seat into and out of a collapsed position. Abstract

A portable power supply system comprises a housing that supports a battery charging circuit that is operatively connected to the AC-to-DC converter, and a battery, supported by the housing, is operatively connected to the battery charging circuit. One or more power outlets are supported by the housing, where each of the power outlets comprises only DC power output. A power source switching circuit is supported by the housing and operatively connected to the AC-to-DC converter, the battery and the power outlets. The power source switching circuit is configured to provide power from the AC-to-DC converter to the power outlets when an input to the AC-to-DC converter is energized, and to provide power from the battery to the power outlets when the input to the AC-to-DC converter is de-energized.

Abstract

A collapsible office chair and reconfigurable work desk can assume compact stowage configurations to minimize floor space occupied during periods of non-use. The chair includes a seat and leg assembly both coupled to a seat post. The seat is pivotable from a use configuration to a tilted or stowed configuration that occupies less floor space. The leg assembly includes a plurality of legs coupled to a lower portion of the seat post, with one or more of the legs typically being movable from a use configuration that provides a suitably wide base for the seat in its use configuration, to a compact stowed configuration that occupies less floor space but can still support the chair in a freestanding manner. Optionally, a seat back is attached to the seat and is also repositionable between use and stowed configurations, the latter occupying less floor space and less vertical height.

  • A47C 1/032 - Reclining or easy chairs having coupled adjustable supporting parts the parts being movably-coupled seat and back-rest
  • A47C 7/46 - Supports for the head or the back for the back with special, e.g. adjustable, profile"Ackerblom" profile chairs
