Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for optimizing material processing. In one aspect, a method includes collecting, from a set of sensors, a set of current manufacturing conditions. Based on the set of current manufacturing conditions collected from the sensors, a set of current qualities of a material currently being processed by manufacturing equipment is determined. A baseline production measure for processing the material according to the set of current qualities is obtained. A candidate set of manufacturing conditions that provide an improved production measure relative to the baseline production measure is determined. A set of candidate qualities for the material produced under the candidate set of manufacturing conditions is determined. A visualization that presents both of the set of candidate qualities of the material and the set of current qualities of the material currently being processed is generated.

HYBRID GAS/ELECTRIC AIR HEATING SYSTEM FOR MATERIAL DRYING SYSTEMS
An air heating system includes a common air supply header, a common air return header, and a hybrid air heating system. The hybrid air heating system includes a first air heating system or a first set air heating components that operates using a first type of fuel and a second air heating system or a second set of air heating components that operates using a second type of fuel. The first type of fuel may be electricity and the second type of fuel may be a gas. The system may operate using only the first air heating system or components, only the second air heating system or components, or both the first and second air heating systems or components. Alternatively, a hybrid air heating system may be connected directly to an end of a dryer without the use of common headers.
The invention relates to a dewatering element (1) for dewatering a fibrous web and comprises a wear body (3) having a sliding surface (4) and is characterized in that the wear body (3) is in the form of a ceramically reinforced polymer substrate. The dewatering element can be advantageously produced and recycled.
A seal strip and wear monitoring system includes: a seal strip having an upper surface; and a wear monitoring system. The wear monitoring system includes: a sensing portion comprising a plurality of electrical traces, each of the electrical traces including an uppermost portion that is generally parallel with and is positioned at a depth from the upper surface of the seal strip, wherein the depth of each trace uppermost portion differs from the depth of the other electrical traces; and a signal processing portion electrically connected with the electrical traces, the signal processing portion including circuitry configured to detect electrical signals from the traces and to determine when the uppermost portion of a trace has been damaged.
A bearing for guiding reciprocating vertical movement of a pressure diffuser screen assembly may include: a bearing cylinder; a screen extension having an upper portion configured to couple to a lower portion of the pressure diffuser screen assembly, the screen extension having a screen extension outer diameter less than a pressure diffuser screen assembly outer diameter and less than an inner diameter of the bearing cylinder; and a bearing assembly configured to couple to the screen extension at a lower portion of the screen extension, the bearing assembly having a bearing assembly inner diameter corresponding to the screen extension outer diameter and a bearing assembly outer diameter corresponding to the inner diameter of the bearing cylinder. An inner diameter of the bearing cylinder may provide a bearing surface for the bearing assembly.
The invention relates to a screw press for separating filtrate from a feed material. It is characterised in that a sensor arrangement comprising a sensor for measuring the filtrate content is arranged in the discharge area, the feed material flowing towards and/or around the sensor. This allows simple, prompt, and accurate measurement of the filtrate content.

An accept tank arrangement for mixing of pulped fiber suspension including sidewalls (3,4) including opposite arched ends (2) and an elongated section (1) between the arched ends (2). The accept tank has mixers (10) each located within one of the arched ends (2). The mixers (10) have axles (11) on which are mounted propellers (12). The mixers (10) are aligned horizontally and each axle points to a respective point on the elongated section (1) of the sidewall (3) which away from an end of the elongate section by at least 25% of the length of the elongated section (1). The propellers (12) are symmetrically positioned with respect to a center-point of the accept tank. Within the center of the elongated section is an elongated centerpiece (6) having rounded ends. The accept tank has a substantially flat bottom at least at the elongated section (1) of the accept tank.

The invention relates to a method for obtaining or recovering acid from metal-containing solutions (13) of the acid through treatment by pyrohydrolysis of the solution and subsequent absorption and/or condensation of the gaseous acid formed in the process. The metal-containing solution (13) is fed to a heated reactor chamber (1) in which the metal-containing solution (13) is evaporated and in which the solution is split by pyrolysis into acids and metal oxides (12). According to the invention, for heating, a heat transfer medium (11), which partially or completely consists of water vapour, is fed to the reactor chamber (1), by means of which the metal-containing solution (13) is heated to the temperature required for pyrohydrolysis.
