Abstract

A decanter centrifuge includes a centrifugal bowl rotatable around a preferably horizontal axis of rotation including at least one liquid phase discharge outlet at one end and at least one solids discharge opening at the other end, a scroll conveyor mounted substantially concentrically inside the bowl for rotation about the axis of rotation of the centrifugal bowl at a slightly different speed relative to the bowl for transporting the solid phase towards the solids discharge opening. The liquid phase discharge is enabled through port members. A set of bushings for solid discharge is provided to adjust the solid discharge diameter inside the bowl. With these bushings optimal cake discharge may be achieved.

Abstract

A decanter centrifuge with a rotating bowl is provided with at least one solids discharge port and at least one clarified liquid discharge port and a screw conveyor disposed coaxially within the rotating bowl to be rotated in the same direction with a differential rotational speed. A feed suspension to be separated is introduced into a ring shaped space formed between the rotating bowl and the screw conveyor through a central feed pipe fixed to the end of the screw conveyor and supported in at least one bearing. The feed suspension is separated by centrifugal force into a solid phase and a liquid phase so that the solid phase is discharged from the solid discharge port and the liquid phase is discharged from a clarified liquid discharging apparatus. A sealing of the feed pipe and the bowl shaft at the feed end of the feed pipe is provided as adjacent double axial sealing. A liquid phase conduit is arranged in the bowl shaft for guiding the liquid phase outside of the bearings, and a liquid phase valve is provided outside the bearing on the side facing away from the bowl and screw. In this way the liquid phase discharge valve can be varied during operation of the decanter centrifuge by a hand wheel via a transmission or by a motor.

Abstract

A decanter centrifuge includes a rotatable bowl extending along a centrifuge axis of rotation, and a rotatable scroll conveyor with hub mounted coaxially within the bowl. A feed pipe passes centrally within the hub and leads into a feed chamber within the hub. A plurality of circumferentially spaced apart nozzles extend radially outward from a round internal wall of the feed chamber to the outside surface of the hub and extend radially inward beyond the internal wall of the feed chamber. A plurality of discrete accelerator inserts are mounted on the internal wall of the feed chamber, wherein each insert is adjacently mounted between two nozzles and each nozzle is circumferentially fixed by abutment with the radially inward extensions of two of the spaced apart nozzles.

Abstract

The invention relates to a decanter centrifuge comprising a scroll conveyor rotatable around a preferably horizontal axis of rotation mounted substantially concentrically within a rotating bowl (1), the scroll conveyor comprising a hub (8) and at least one helical winding, the hub (8) including an inside surface and an outside surface, at least one passageway between the inside surface and the outside surface of the scroll conveyor, a feed pipe (3) in the center of the scroll hub (8). It is characterized in a number of nozzles (10) provided extending from the inside of the feed chamber (4) to the outside wherein on the inside surface of the scroll hub (8) and between the nozzles (10) around the circumference there are provided accelerator inserts (16). The invention also relates to a feed chamber (4) for such a decanter centrifuge. This invention results in a new feed chamber for the scroll with high efficiency, smooth product acceleration, wear protection and easy maintenance.

Abstract

The invention relates to a solid bowl centrifuge with a horizontal elongated, hollow, rotatable, solid-wall bowl (2) with an inlet and an outlet and a rotatable screw conveyor with a shaft (6) and helical screw (7) rotatable mounted inside said bowl and extending substantially the full length thereof. It is mainly characterized in that on the shaft there are mounted a number of truncated conical discs (24), whereby the discs are directly surrounded by the helical screw. With such design the decanter capacity can be increased and the polymer consumption reduced. Further power consumption can be reduced by obtaining the same performances as the traditional decanter at lower rotational speed (lower g-force).

Abstract

A scroll conveyor tile protection or any other material subject to wear with a weldable support and a wear resistant insert, not necessary weldable. The support is fit with a flat surface and shoulder allowing for precise positioning of tile on a scroll flight to be protected. At least one opening, preferably at its center, allows for insertion and assembly of a complementary shaped insert. The unit setting up on the scroll flight and the contact between the flight faces and the unit faces allows for creating a dove tail locking system. Welding of the support permanently insures locking of the system and insert being maintained without being otherwise fixed beyond this mechanical clamping.

Abstract

A decanter centrifuge with a rotating bowl has one solids discharge port, one clarified liquid discharge port and a screw conveyor. A feed suspension is separated by centrifugal force into a solid phase and a liquid phase so that the solid phase is discharged from the solid discharge port and the liquid phase is discharged from a clarified liquid discharging apparatus. The invention relates to a decanter centrifuge with a rotating bowl (1) provided with at least one solids discharge port (11) and at least one clarified liquid discharge port (15) and a screw conveyor (2) disposed coaxially within said rotating bowl rotated in the same direction with a differential rotational speed, where a feed suspension to be separated is introduced into a ring shaped space formed between said rotating bowl (1) and said screw conveyor (2) through a central feed pipe fixed to the end of the screw conveyor and supported in at least one bearing and can be separated by centrifugal force into a solid and a liquid phase so that said solid phase is discharged from said solid discharge port and said liquid phase is discharged from said clarified liquid discharging apparatus. According to the present invention it is charakterized by a liquid phase conduit (4) arranged in the hollow shaft of the rotating bowl (1) guiding the liquid phase outside of the bearings (16, 18), a liquid phase discharge valve (14) provided outside the bearing on the side facing away from the bowl (1) and screw (2) and a sealing (6) at the end of the feed pipe (10) surrounded by the liquid phase conduit. So it is possible to pressurise the system and to use the pressure from the feed pump to support the cake transport in the solids transporting part of the bowl, thereby eliminating the need for variable speed conveyor control and equipment.
