The method comprises: obtaining a target infrared dot matrix corresponding to a terrain region currently undergoing recognition and, on the basis of ray lengths and ray emission angles corresponding to points in the target infrared dot matrix, calculating spatial coordinate positions corresponding to the points in the target infrared dot matrix; sequentially obtaining points in at least two rows from the target infrared dot matrix and, on the basis of the spatial coordinate positions corresponding to the points, constructing a plurality of corresponding triangular planes and calculating normal line angles between the triangular planes; and, on the basis of a result of comparison between a preset angle threshold and the normal line angles between the triangular planes, determining a target terrain state corresponding to the terrain region currently undergoing recognition. By employing the present method, the efficiency of a robot accurately recognizing terrain can be improved.

The present invention solves the problems such as existing sensor position calibration being easily interfered and position information being inaccurate; and a relative angle with good real-time performance is calibrated by using an absolute lag angle fed back by PWM information, so as to avoid the situation of step loss.
