Abstract
The invention relates to δ-oxo hydrazide-hydrazone derivative compounds that show anticancer activity against breast (MCF-7) and prostate (PC-3) cancer cells, but do not show any toxicity on healthy breast epithelial cells (ME-16C) at the same dose, and their synthesis methods. When N'-(4-methoxybenzylidene)-5-oxo-5- phenylpentanehydrazide, N'-(4-methoxybenzylidene)-5-(4-chlorophenyl)-5-oxo- pentanehydrazide, N'-(4-methoxybenzylidene)-5-oxo-5-p-tolylpentanehydrazide, N'- (4-methoxybenzylidene)-5-(4-methoxyphenyl)-5-oxo-pentanehydrazide and N'-(4- methoxybenzylidene)-5-oxo-5-(thiophen-2-yl) pentanhydrazide compounds are evaluated in terms of anticancer activity, it was proven that these compounds did not show any effect against normal breast epithelial cells (ME-16C) at the same dose although these compounds showed significant inhibitory activity against breast (MCF- 7) and/or prostate (PC-3) cancer cells.
