The invention relates to a gas spring device of an office chair (BS) having a gas spring, which is arranged and designed for height adjustment of the office chair (BS) by means of a movable component (Z, K) of the gas spring. The gas spring device also has at least one sensor means arranged on the gas spring device, which is designed to detect a load on the gas spring device and to generate at least one sensor signal in dependence on the detected load. In addition, the gas spring device according to the invention has an electronic circuit (SK) which is designed to generate usage data in dependence on the at least one sensor signal. According to the invention, the usage data represent one or more circumstances regarding use of the office chair (BS).
