Abstract

A door assembly is provided having a latch assembly. The latch assembly includes a head portion, a first latch housing, a second latch housing, a latch hub, and a hub cradle. The latch housings both define a respective opening. The hub cradle defines a recess offset from a center of the hub cradle. The hub cradle is positioned between the latch housings, and the latch hub is positioned in the hub cradle so that it is aligned with the recess. The hub cradle is configured to be received in the openings of the latch housings to provide a latch assembly having a short backset panel configuration or a long backset panel configuration. A distance from the head portion to the latch hub in the long backset panel configuration is larger than a distance from the head portion to the latch hub in the short backset panel configuration.

Abstract

An intelligent door lock system that permits both electronic and manual control of a deadbolt. The door lock system can include an inner bezel assembly, an outer bezel assembly, and a deadbolt assembly, where the deadbolt assembly can be coupled to the outer bezel assembly via a twist-lock feature. The inner bezel assembly also includes a puck assembly that seats within an inner bezel. The puck assembly can be retained within or released from the inner bezel via a latch assembly. The outer bezel assembly includes a display assembly that seats within an outer bezel. The outer bezel is coupled to a motor chassis assembly that includes a motor and gear assembly having a series of gears that translate movement of dial elements or a motor into movement of a bolt element between locked and unlocked positions.

Abstract

A door panel includes a frame, a laminate core, a plurality of thermally-insulative connectors, and an exterior skin. The frame defines a portion of an outer periphery of the panel and has an inner section and an outer section positioned, respectively, adjacent inner and outer portions of the panel. The laminate core is positioned between the inner section and the outer section of the frame. The plurality of thermally-insulative connectors connect the inner section and the outer section to the core. The exterior skin covers the frame. The core is a thermal barrier between the inner section and the outer section. The inner section and the outer section are formed from a thermally-insulative material. The core includes an inner layer formed from a thermally conductive material, and two outer layers formed from steel. The thermally-insulative connectors include a thermally-insulative jacket and a fastener positioned within the jacket.

In a closed position of the panel relative to the frame, the anchor is movable between a locked position and an unlocked position. The seal activation system is connected to at least one of the actuators of the plurality of active sealing systems. The electronic control system controls the seal activation system.

Abstract

A combined sealing system for connecting a panel to a frame includes a first active sealing system and a first passive seal. The first active sealing system engages a first surface of the panel or a first surface of the frame. The first passive seal engages a second surface of the panel and a second surface of the frame. Upon the panel being in a single closed position relative to the frame, the active sealing system has a locked configuration and an unlocked configuration, and the active sealing system in the locked configuration causes the first passive seal to be further engaged.

Abstract

A sealing system connects a panel to a frame and includes an anchor and a pair of opposing docking collars. The anchor extends from the frame or panel, and the opposing docking collars are disposed within a guide portion in the other of the frame or panel. The sealing system has an unlocked configuration and a locked configuration. In the unlocked configuration, the panel moves relative to the frame along a plane substantially parallel to a longitudinal axis of the anchor. In the locked configuration, the anchor is positioned between the docking collars, and the anchor is engaged by the docking collars to prevent movement of the panel relative to the frame along the plane.

Abstract

A combined sealing system for connecting a panel to a frame includes a first sealing system and a second sealing system. The panel pivots relative to the frame. The first sealing system connects a first surface of the panel to a first surface of the frame, and the second sealing system connects a second surface of the panel to a second surface of the frame. The first surface of the panel is different than the second surface of the panel, and the first and second sealing systems have a locked configuration and an unlocked configuration upon the panel being positioned within the frame.

Abstract

A combined sealing system for use with a combination of a panel and a frame includes a first sealing system and a second sealing system. The first sealing system is positioned within a first side of the frame, and the second sealing system is positioned within a second side of the frame separate from the first side of the frame. The first and second sealing systems have a locked configuration and an unlocked configuration upon the panel being positioned within the frame. The panel pivots relative to the frame, and the first sealing system is a reciprocal motion sealing system.

Abstract

A closing system for moving a sealing system between an unlocked configuration and a locked configuration includes first and second inner control members and first and second outer control members. The sealing system connects a panel to a frame and includes an anchor disposed between first and second opposing docking collars. The first and second inner control members are respectively connected to the first and second docking collars, and the first and second outer control members are respectively disposed proximate to the first and second inner control members. The first and second outer control members move relative to the first and second inner control members along a line substantially perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of one of the control members, and movement of the first and second outer control members relative to the first and second inner control members along the line generates forces against the first and second inner control members towards the anchor when the sealing system moves from the unlocked configuration to the locked configuration.

Abstract

A combined seal activation system positioned within a panel for use with a combination of the panel and a frame includes a first seal activation system and a second seal activation system. The panel pivots relative to the frame. The first seal activation system activates a first sealing system positioned within the frame, and the second seal activation system activates a second sealing system positioned within the frame. The first seal activation system is positioned adjacent a first side of the panel, and the second seal activation system is positioned adjacent a second side of the panel different than the first side of the panel. The first and second seal activation systems having an engaged configuration and a disengaged configuration.

Abstract

A combined sealing system and seal activation system for use with a double door/window system having a first panel and a second panel includes a first sealing system and a first seal activation system. The first sealing system is positioned within a meeting stile of the first panel, and the first seal activation system activates the first sealing system. The first sealing activation system is also positioned within a meeting stile of the second panel and includes a movable member configured to engage the first sealing system. The first sealing system includes a movable member, and movable member of the first sealing system is caused to move towards the second panel by the first sealing system being engaged by the movable member of the first seal activation system moving towards the first panel. The first panel and the second panel separately pivot relative to a frame surrounding the double door/window system.
