Abstract

A mobile device and an article of manufacture as implemented in a mobile device having a lock screen wallpaper is described, where the mobile device maintains a profile storing authentication data associated with a primary user of a mobile device that is authorized to use the mobile device. When the mobile device is at a business location, the primary user is non-intrusively authenticated as an authorized user of the mobile device based on identifying presence of another electronic device (e.g., another mobile device) associated with the primary user. Upon successful authentication a scanning code is displayed over a lock screen wallpaper of the mobile device, where power is conserved in the mobile device by providing the scanning code to the primary user without unlocking the mobile device.

Abstract

An article of manufacture comprises a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium comprising program code executable by a processor in a mobile device. The mobile device runs applications in either foreground or background states. Upon placing the device into a screen locked state, the device activates its display and accesses a user-defined profile identifying a background application. The mobile device automatically obtains information associated with this background application, renders it over the lock screen wallpaper, and iteratively updates the displayed information without requiring device unlocking. In one embodiment, the background application is a navigation application, providing continuously updated navigational maps or directions, scaled and rendered to avoid obstructing unlocking tools or time indicators. Location-based functionality includes automatic updates of displayed information based on Global Positioning System (GPS) data. Additional embodiments support concurrently displaying information from multiple background applications, enabling direct unlocking into an application through interaction with the displayed information.

Abstract

An article of manufacture is disclosed with a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium containing program code that, when executed by a processor, enables a method to adjust the height and rotation of a spray gun used in a line striper via a control device's GUI. The medium includes program code: (a) receiving a first user input through the GUI to raise or lower a spray gun mount bar via a height adjustment mechanism; (b) adjusting the spray gun mount bar's height based on the input in (a); (c) receiving a second user input through the GUI to rotate an angular adjustment mechanism linked to the spray gun mount bar; and (d) executing rotation of the spray gun mount bar, either clockwise or counterclockwise, based on the input in (c).

Abstract

A profile is maintained in a mobile device for storing authentication data associated with a primary user of a mobile device, and at least one secondary user that is authorized to use the mobile device. When the mobile device is at a business location, the secondary user is passively authenticated, and upon successful authentication: an image is displayed over a default lock screen wallpaper when the mobile device is in a screen locked state, wherein the image contains a scanning code, and a financial transaction is facilitated at the business location based on the scanning code without unlocking the mobile device, wherein the financial transaction associated with a financial account of the primary user. Power is conserved in the mobile device by not unlocking it at the business location to conduct the financial transaction.

Abstract

A profile is maintained in a mobile device for storing authentication data associated with a primary user of a mobile device, and at least one secondary user that is authorized to use the mobile device. When the mobile device is at a business location, the secondary user is passively authenticated, and upon successful authentication: an image is displayed over a portion of a default lock screen wallpaper when the mobile device is in a screen locked state, wherein the image contains a scanning code, and a financial transaction (e.g., a cloud-based transaction) is facilitated at the business location based on the scanning code without unlocking the mobile device, wherein the financial transaction associated with a financial account of the primary user. Power is conserved in the mobile device by not unlocking it at the business location to conduct the financial transaction.

Abstract

A method is described as implemented in a mobile device having a lock screen wallpaper, where the mobile device maintains a profile storing authentication data associated with both a primary user of a mobile device and one or more secondary users that are authorized to use the mobile device. When the mobile device is at a business location, the secondary user(s) are non-intrusively authenticated as authorized user(s) of the mobile device. Upon successful authentication a scanning code is displayed over a lock screen wallpaper of the mobile device, where power is conserved in the mobile device by providing the scanning code to the secondary user(s) without unlocking the mobile device.
