Abstract

An amusement ride includes at least one vehicle which is guided along a track, at least one passenger receptacle for accommodating a passenger being situated on the vehicle. A movement, position, and/or orientation of the passenger receptacle relative to the vehicle is changeable by means of at least one adjusting unit in at least one degree of freedom. A controller controls the adjusting unit. The controller is in signal communication with a memory in which movements to be performed, positions to be assumed, and/or orientations to be assumed during the ride of each passenger receptacle are stored directly or indirectly as memory content. The controller is designed to allow the positions, orientations, and/or movements to be assumed in sequence at a given point on the track during the ride. The amusement ride has means by which the passenger determines the memory content for the relevant passenger receptacle.

Abstract

For the vehicles of an interactive fairground ride, in particular a rollercoaster, control consoles are proposed which are equipped with a control button and a display unit and are assigned to each passenger. These control buttons and, if appropriate, the display units of all the control consoles, are connected by means of a transmitter, by radio or by cable, to an evaluation and control unit which detects the reaction times for all passengers and calculates a mean value, the collective reaction time, therefrom. A signal for starting the vehicle is not generated until after the expiry of the collective reaction time. In a fairground ride of this kind, the emphasis is on the interaction between all the passengers of a vehicle.

Abstract

A locking device for an axle includes a carrier for an axle, a cylinder for a fluid, having a cylinder wall, and a piston which is located inside the cylinder and is sealed against the cylinder wall at least in sections or at certain points, so that the interior of the cylinder is subdivided into a first volume and a second volume separated from the first volume by the piston, and also comprising a mechanical connection between the piston on one side and the carrier for the axle or the axle itself on the other, so that the position of the piston in the cylinder determines the orientation of the carrier for the axle or the orientation of the axle itself, and vice versa, wherein the first volume is connected to the second volume via a line system which has a line segment in which a valve is arranged.

Abstract

A track section for a ride having a vehicle, divided into a first block segment and a second block segment. The first block segment has a first high point and ends at a second high point. The second block segment begins at the second high point. A first linear drive is situated before the first high point, and a second linear drive is situated between the first high point and the second high point. The positions of the high points relative to one another and the design of the linear drives are coordinated so the vehicle can be brought to a standstill in the first block segment if entry into the second block segment is not enabled. A method for traveling over the track section is provided, wherein a change in direction of travel of the vehicle is produced if the second block segment is not enabled for entry.

Abstract

A rotating water amusement ride is described in which the passengers can in a simpler manner walk to their seats in the water vessels while keeping their feet dry. This is principally achieved by a water amusement ride, with at least one water vessel which is preferably movable in the body of water, and having a float body which is borne by the water and which has seats for accommodating passengers, wherein a platform is provided which, in a rest state of the water amusement ride, protrudes out of the water surface.

Abstract

The invention relates to a water amusement ride, comprising at least one water vehicle (20), which can be moved in a body of water and which comprises seats (21) for accommodating passengers. A platform (10) is provided, which extends out of the water surface (4) of the body of water in an idle state of the water amusement ride (1) and is beneath the water surface in an operating state, and a platform carrier (50) is provided, which lifts the platform (10) out of the water surface (4) in the idle state. According to the invention, the platform carrier (50) and/or the platform (10) comprises at least one floating body (55). Advantage: the switch to the idle state (and possibly also back to the operating state) can be completed more quickly and with lower force consumption and energy consumption in comparison with a traditional water amusement ride.

Abstract

The invention relates to a rail-bound vehicle for an amusement park ride. The vehicle has an upper part 10 with vehicle seats 12, as well as a carriage 20 whose running wheels 22 and lateral wheels 23 run on rail-tubes, as do its lift-off rollers 24. The upper part 10 can rotate freely around a vertical axis 16 relative to the carriage 20. A brake disk 14′ made of a metallic material is provided on the underside of the upper part 10. Permanent magnets 31 connected to the rail system are assigned to this brake disk 14′. The brake disk 14, upon passing these permanent magnets 31, enters the latter's magnet field, with the result that the upper part 10 of the vehicle is braked and set into rotational motion due to the continued linear movement of the carriage 20.
