Abstract

The invention relates to a riveted connection in which the rivet shaft (13) of a rivet element (7) can be driven into at least one first joint partner (1) in a setting direction during a setting process, namely while at least partly expanding the rivet shaft (13), such that the first joint partner (1) is clamped between a rivet head (9) and a rivet foot of the rivet element (7) when viewed in the setting direction (S), wherein a functional section for attaching at least one second joint partner (2) is formed on the upper face of the rivet head (9) of the rivet element (7). According to the invention, the functional section has a blind hole (53) which is coaxial to the rivet element longitudinal axis (L) in particular, said blind hole comprising a closed blind hole base (54) which interacts with an auxiliary joint element (57) in order to attach the second joint partner (2) to the first joint partner (1).

Abstract

The invention relates to a riveted connection, wherein a hollow rivet shank (11) of a rivet element (1) is driven into a component (3), more particularly exactly one component, in a setting direction (S), such that the rivet shank (11) expands. According to the invention, an activation contour (31) is formed in the component pre-hole (5); in the setting process, the activation contour controls a transformation of the rivet element (1) from the undeformed state into the expanded state. According to the invention, the component side facing away from the setting side is designed to have a completely planar surface, that is to say without die-induced bowing, such that in the component side facing away from the setting side there occurs no material deformation and/or material change in the region of the residual bottom thickness (r).
