The invention relates first of all to a strip treatment device (1), for example a dryer or thermofixing unit, preferably for strips of textile materials, for example narrow strips, having a plurality of deflection rollers (7-23) which are arranged in pairs and are spaced apart vertically or horizontally, over which deflection rollers (7-23) the strip (6) is guided, in a superimposed manner with respect to a horizontal or vertical basic passage direction of the strip treatment device, transversely with respect hereto, wherein the strip is guided multiple times over the same deflection rollers (7-23) and the deflection rollers (7-23) are arranged overall in a substantially closed housing. In order to achieve improved process management and an improved embodiment of the device, it is proposed that, with regard to a pair of deflection rollers, at least one, preferably the lower one in the case of deflection rollers which are spaced apart vertically, is driven, that, furthermore, one or both deflection rollers of the pair can be modified with regard to the orientation of their axis, and that the associated deflection rollers (7-23) of a plurality of pairs are arranged next to one another or above one another. Furthermore, the invention relates to a method for thermofixing and drawing strips or the like in a thermofixing device.
