A punch (6) mounted at the front of the magazine (3) is connected to actuation means (8 to 12) and cooperates with an anvil (7) carried by the front of the base (2). The punch (6) occupies a low position when the stapler is not being used; it is disconnected from its actuation means (8 to 12) to then be moved forwards with a sliding longitudinal element (14) of the staple magazine (3) during the loading of the magazine. Said stapler also comprises a force-reduction device (8) comprising a rocker (9).
