The invention relates to a mobile device (1) for collecting and compacting waste, comprising: a container (2) for receiving a waste bag; a cover device (7), wherein the cover device interacts with the opening of the container (2) in a form-fitting manner such that a waste bag introduced into the container (2) can be sealed in an air-tight manner; means (9) for generating compressed air; means (10) for generating negative pressure; means (11) for thermally welding a waste bag introduced into the container (2); and means (31) for displacing the mobile device (1), characterised in that the cover device (7) has a suction opening (12) for negative pressure, the device (1) has means (14) for displacing a base plate (4) with respect to the side walls (3) of the container, and the container (2) has an inlet opening (15) and an inlet valve for compressed air.
