A machine (100) is shown that produces disposable packages, for example pods (K) of ground or powder products (P) to be brewed, defined by two coupled half-shells, a bottom half-shell (C) and an upper half-shell (C2) respectively, made of composite material. The machine (100) includes a closed loop track (2), made in the upper surface (1S) of a board (1); a plurality of blocks (3), arranged one against the other to fill the closed loop track (2); advancing means (4), provided for moving stepwise the blocks (3), each of which is provided with a size adapted imprint (30).
The machine (100) produces disposable packages, for example pods (K) of ground or powder products (P) to be brewed, defined by two coupled half- shells, a bottom half-shell (C) and an upper half-shell (C2) respectively, made of composite material. The machine (100) comprises a closed loop track (2), made in the upper surface (18) of a board (1 ); a plurality of blocks (3), arranged one against the other to fill said closed loop track (2); advancing means (4), provided for moving stepwise said blocks (3), each of which is provided with a size adapted imprint (30). In a first operating station (S1 ), first means (5) introduce a lower half-shell (C) into each block (3); in a second operating station (82), filling means (6) release an amount of product (P) into each of the above mentioned lower half-shells (C) carried by the respective blocks (3). A third operating station (S3) comprises, in this order: second means (7) for applying an upper half-shell (C2) on the top of each of the lower half-shells (C); welding means (78), aimed at joining the annular edges (B, B2) of said half-shells (C, C2), to define a pod (K); trimming means (7R), aimed at cutting to shape the margin of the annular edge of said pods (K). In a fourth operating station (84), handling means (8) pick up the finished pods (K) from the blocks (3) and unload them onto a conveyor line (9), which moves them away from the machine (100).
