Abstract
An active guide system for linear motor movers The invention relates to a mover guiding system for linear motors, that generates a force perpendicular to the direction of motion (sideways force), through a magnetic field distribution which makes use of the same stator as the mover. The sideways force can be used to adjust the clearance between the mover and the stator while the mover is stationary or in motion.
