A single unit protective door package for packaging of a single prehung door assembly. The door assembly comprises a door frame and a door slab pivotally attached to the door frame. The door frame includes right and left side jambs and a head jamb connecting upper ends of the right and left side jambs. An emergency door closing device that can be installed upon existing doors and hinges to automatically close doors in the response to smoke and fire. The improvements incorporated therein include a hinge cam pivot member that attaches to an existing hinge member of a door and produces a moment force about the existing hinge member allowing a reduced force necessary to pivot the door into a closed position. Abstract

An adjustable door support for acquiring a door gap and supporting a door slab at a height off a floor equal to the door gap. The adjustable door support comprises a bendable sheet including two outer and two inner sections, and two tie devices. The two inner sections are disposed at an oblique angle relative to one another and form a support slot for receiving a portion of the door slab therein. The support slot has door support edges for engaging the door slab. Each of the tie devices includes a cable tie threaded through the inner sections of the bendable sheet and a locking washer attached to the cable tie by sliding over the cable ties in one direction only. The locking washers are lockable on the cable ties to adjust a distance between the support edges of the adjustable door support and the floor.

Abstract

The present invention relates to shaker doors with solid cores and methods for making the same. The shaker doors contain different core materials at the recessed panel than the raise peripheral region to provide dimensional stability and reduced distortion when the doors are exposed to high humidity. The devices and methods also provide for easy assembly of solid core shaker doors, including fire rated doors.

Abstract

A door assembly includes a doorframe, an insulated glazing unit (IGU), door skins, and a gas passageway. The IGU includes a substantially sealed IGU cavity and a hole communicating with the IGU cavity. The door skins are secured to opposite sides of the doorframe and have openings between which the IGU is provided. The gas passageway provides gas communication between the IGU cavity and the atmosphere outside of the door assembly. The gas passageway contains a gas passage conduit that includes a first end communicating with the IGU cavity through the hole and a second end communicating with atmosphere outside of the door assembly. The gas passageway may contain a gas passage conduit having a first end communicating with the IGU cavity through the first hole and a second end communicating with an air pocket, and a channel connects the air pocket with atmosphere outside of the door assembly.
