Abstract
A method of affecting a biological, cellular or biochemical function or structure in a targeted subcortical location in a brain of a patient using a TRPMS apparatus placed on a head of the patient includes positioning two or more of a plurality of magnetic assemblies on locations of the head mount selected to stimulate the targeted subcortical location in the brain of the patient, and activating the plurality of magnetic assemblies at the selected locations to generate magnetic fluxes of a selected strength, frequency and duration directed into the brain of the patient, wherein the magnetic flux directed into the brain of the patient from each of the assemblies is operative to generate induced electric field in regions of the brain and the regions of induced electric fields generated by each of the plurality of magnetic assemblies converge in the targeted subcortical location and combine to a magnitude sufficient to affect the biological, cellular or biochemical function or structure in the targeted subcortical location.

Abstract
A method of authorizing performance of transcranial magnetic stimulation on a subject using a head mount adapted to bear one or more magnetic assembly devices having unique identifiers. The method comprises connecting the one or more magnetic assembly devices to a control device, each magnetic assembly device being installed at a location on the head mount, receiving, at the control device, the identifiers of the connected magnetic assembly devices. determining whether the installed magnetic assembly devices are authorized for the treatment based on the received identifiers and treatment configuration information in a database, and energizing the connected magnetic assembly devices based on the determination of authorization.

Abstract
A transcranial magnetic stimulation device in accordance with embodiments of the present invention comprises a head mount for disposition on a head of a patient and configured with a plurality of attachment points, a plurality of magnetic assembly devices connected to the plurality of attachment points, a given magnetic assembly device equipped with an actuator device to actuate a magnet, is addressable, and configured to receive a control signal addressed to the given magnetic assembly device, and a processor having a memory and configured by program code. The processor is configured to: select one or more treatment protocol units, generate a control signal using at least information contained in the selected treatment protocol units, energize at least one magnetic assembly device over a period of time to cause the magnet to actuate according to the control signal, and monitor the patient response to energizing the at least one magnetic assembly device.
