Abstract

A method for freezing a frozen item (21) according to the present invention has: a step for controlling and keeping a temperature inside a container (10) to a predetermined freezing temperature and applying an AC voltage to the frozen item (21) in the container (10) in such a manner that a small amount of current (1 μA or higher but 1000 mA or lower) flows through the frozen item (21); and a step for freezing the frozen item (21) at the predetermined freezing temperature for a predetermined storage period or longer while the AC voltage is being applied to the frozen item (21) inside the container (10).

Abstract

The thawing machine is provided with a metallic member that supports a pallet on which a frozen product is placed, a power supply that applies an AC voltage to the metallic member so that a predetermined feeble current (1 μA or higher, and 1000 mA or lower) flows to the frozen product, and a breathable, conductive cover that covers the frozen product, wherein the AC voltage is applied also to the cover in thawing of the frozen product.

Abstract

Disclosed herein is a method for simply inducing an anti-apoptotic effect and/or an anti-necrotic effect in a living cell with good control without administering any drug. The method includes applying an alternating-current voltage to the living cell so that an electric current of 25 μA or higher but 75 μA or lower flows to induce an anti-apoptotic effect and/or an anti-necrotic effect in the living cell. The living cell used may be a cultured cell. The alternating-current voltage may be applied to a stage member on which a container holding the living cell is placed.

Abstract

Provided is a method for inducing an anti-apoptosis effect and/or an anti-necrosis effect in a living cell in a simple manner and with good regulation performance without requiring the administration of any drug. An alternating-current voltage is applied to a living cell in such a manner that a current of 25 to 75 μA inclusive can flow, whereby an anti-apoptosis effect and/or an anti-necrosis effect can be induced in the living cell. The living cell to be used may be a cell in culture. The alternating-current voltage may apply to a loading member on which a container including the living cell is mounted.

Abstract

Provided is a treating apparatus (100) comprising a container (10) having its inside set at a predetermined temperature, support means for supporting a treating object (21) in the container (10) in a manner to keep insulation between the container (10) and the object (21), and AC power applying means (11) for applying an AC voltage of 10 V to 5 kV to the object (21) through the support means so that a current of 1 &mgr;A to 1,000 mA may flow. The apparatus applies the above-specified current to the object (21) thereby to suppress the oxidation of the object (21).
