Abstract

Disclosed is an apparatus for forming magnesium alloy pipes. The apparatus for forming magnesium alloy pipes comprises: a heater unit that heats a workpiece to a preset temperature and maintains the raised temperature; a die unit in which the size of a forming space varies according to the rotational force generated while rotating; a moving unit for moving the heated workpiece into the forming space; and a processor that adjusts the rotational angular velocity of the die unit according to the axial pipe size of the heated workpiece, forms the workpiece according to the varied size of the forming space according to the rotational angular velocity, and adjusts the heating performance of the heater unit according to the rotational angular velocity. Accordingly, precise plastic forming of magnesium alloys becomes possible, and the quality of magnesium alloy formed products is uniformly maintained so that the defect rate decreases.
