[Problem] The purpose of the present invention is to provide: a method for producing a solid material from a saccharide solution; and a solid material produced from a saccharide solution. [Solution] The present invention provides a method for producing an isomaltulose-containing solid material by allowing an enzyme capable of producing isomaltulose from sucrose to act on a sucrose solution to produce an isomaltulose-containing saccharide solution and producing the isomaltulose-containing solid material from the saccharide solution. The method involves crystallizing isomaltulose crystals having a median diameter of 5-60 μm in the saccharide solution, wherein the median diameter is measured by a laser diffraction particle size distribution measurement. The method also involves spray-drying the saccharide solution containing the isomaltulose crystals at a hot air temperature of 50-95˚C. The present invention also provides a solid material containing 70-90 mass% of isomaltulose and an amorphous saccharide solution. The solid material is characterized by having a spherical shape.
