Abstract
The present invention relates to a panel comprising a wire mesh (2) sandwiched on a front and opposing rear face by a first sheet (1) and a second sheet (1), wherein the first and second sheets (1) are bonded together, and the wire mesh (2) is embedded in each of said first and second sheets (1) such that overall thickness of the panel is the thickness of the first sheet (1) plus the thickness of the second sheet (1). A door comprising the aforementioned panel is also disclosed, the door comprising a door core and sandwiched on a front and opposing rear face by a first and second panel described above. A method of manufacturing the door panel and a door made from said door panel is also disclosed.

Abstract
The present invention relates to a door panel. The panel may be used as a core in a door or wall or the like and has a high thermal conductivity combined with stability and strength which is energy efficient due to its thermal capacity. The panel comprises a thermally insulating material (2) sandwiched on a front and opposing rear face by a first layer (4, 5, 4, 22) and a second layer (4, 5, 4, 22) and at least one strengthening strip (1) sandwiched by, and in contact with, the first and second layers (4, 5, 4, 22). The arrangement is characterised in that the first and second layers (4, 5, 4) comprise a planar board (5) of material sandwiched on an opposing front and rear face by a first planar layer (4) and a second planar layer (4) arranged parallel to one another. The plane of the boards (4, 5, 4, 22) extends in a longitudinal direction and a lateral direction, perpendicular to the longitudinal direction and the first and second layers (4, 5, 4, 22) are bonded to the at least one strengthening strip (1). The strengthening strip extends longitudinally across the door component and continuously from adjacent one edge of the door component to adjacent an opposing, second, edge of the door component. A method of manufacture of the present invention is also disclosed.
